All the new stuff on the site....

I dunno. It doesn't feel right. I don't buy it. Apart from that damn irritating robot making all that noise constantly, there isn't much there, in terms of "Bells & Whistles" and, more importantly, in terms of INFORMATION.

Anyone could have made this w/relative ease, I'd think. It's just text and menus. There's no separate pages or links.

And, MOST IMPORTANTLY, the Tagruato page does NOT link to this supposed "Bold Futura" site.

It's fake. Nice try though.

As of this writing the Tagruato.jp site still does not point to the boldfutura.jp site. It does of course point to the Slusho.jp site.
None of our known official site updates has happened later than a Friday, has it?
It would seem the official sites are updated during business days and largely business hours. This attendant time is also corroborated by the fact that Jamie's Photobucket was not recovered on the weekend but only after the work week had begun. This 'update' being on a Sunday morning smells of a person that has a regular job during the week and doesn't have the time to put the work into a fake/gamejack site until the weekend.
All day Saturday finalizing the site, to launch it Sunday, eh?

When I see the Tagruato site point to this, I'll believe it's IG.

I think the simple fact of the difference in WHOIS data (I didn't read it, but you guys were noting the discrepancies,) the fact that the logo is nowhere to be found, and lastly the fact that all of the information available on the site is simply regurgitated from the Tagruato website mixed with a little bit of generic business info, is enough to call this site as 98% OOG. Just my .02.

It doesn't make sense to me that the PM's wouldn't have planned this all out ahead of time and wouldn't have registered boldfutura.jp before tagruato.jp went live. This is my first time following any kind of viral marketing/ARG so perhaps I'm wrong.

All of your points are very good, but one.
The creators of this site have now put the official Bold Futura logo in the site. It's on an angle somewhat behind the robot. I find it likely that this slight modification is in hopes that an escape is available as it being a 'fan site' and thus the logo being used in a 'fair use' format - in the event the real owners of the logo decided to pursue action against the site's creators.

Oh wow, I completely missed that... Now that you've pointed it out to me I can't NOT see it. It's like thinking about breathing.

Thank you for putting me on the trail of some potentially devastating key errors for this site.

The history section of Tagruato.jp states:
Quote:
In 1989, a brilliant young engineer named Ganu Yoshida was in search of an avenue to support his off-shore drilling revelations. Recognizing the potential still of the crumbling 力の手 company, Yoshida and his investors purchased all shares from those who had led the dream astray. The new Board dismissed those misguided souls, and pooled the rest of fragmented resources to form the foundation for the excellent company you see standing today.

First order of business was to build the Jimmu Drilling Station in the Inland Sea, named after the founder of Japan and the descendent of the sun goddess Amaterasu. The company's new focus had been discovered -- deep sea Petroleum excavation. Over the next 15 years, twelve more drilling stations were built all over the globe, each more efficient and productive than the last. Yoshida became C.E.O., and soon left the tainted name behind to rename the company Tagruato, after its dream-filled founder. Following the model of diversification, Yoshida expanded into subsidiaries including Bold Futura, Yoshida Medical Research, Slusho! brand happy drink, and ParafFun! Wax Distributors.

The About Us section of Bold Futura states:
Quote:
The pillars of Bold Futura were first conceived and laid in 1989 by principals from The Tagruato Corporation, Yoshida Medical Research and The Nakamura Group. Bold Futura is now creating the standard in the new millennium.

If you read the Tagruato history correctly, the renaming of the company didn't come about until 15 years after 1989, which would be 2004. Implications are that the subsidiaries also didn't appear until after that later date.

The Bold Futura history obviously contradicts this.
OOPS!

Does everyone here have a set of rules for the PM's that must be abided by? Perhaps Paramount is not aware of your rules for governing their game, and this is why the new site doesn't have what everyone demands.

Shame on you, Paramount! Bad puppy!! You aren't allowed to do this YOUR way! Who do you think you are?

AFAIK, everyone here is just thinking of the most logical way for an ARG to be run, or the most logical way for a PM to behave.

.

Zooming in shows quite a bit of pixelation problems with the logo and the smaller piccies.

I'm gonna call bluff, but a nice one none the least. That robot animation is pretty sweet, been a while since I've been over at Flashkit, but I'd hazard a guess that's where you'd find it.

The noises are quite annoying too, get a mute button pal.

We are trying to work out if this site is actually In Game (IG) or valid as a creation of the PuppetMasters (PMs) or creators of this Chaotic Fiction (CF) or 'game'. Most people that create games, books, movies, and other forms of entertainment try to obey a sense of continuity and even pay people to check that everything follows continuity.
Sorting what's genuinely created and intended to be part of the CF is a part of all CF, and in this case it's very important and one of the biggest parts of the 'game', and hence for some of us it's a big part of the fun.

Why are you taking our analysis of this site as a personal affront to you?
Relax.

I agree with your assessment of the history. When I read it this morning that's the first place I went to compare the two (Tagruato). It's deliberately vague, it doesn't say that BF was formed in 1989 it says that the first pillars were conceived and laid. This is a direct transcript from their site:

Quote:
The pillars of Bold Futura were first
conceived and laid in 1989 by
principals from The Tagruato
Corporation, Yoshida Medical
Research and The Nakamura Group.
Bold Futura is now creating the
standard in the new millennium.

Although the site copyright says 1989-2007, the history is short but well written and leaves quit a bit open for interpretation. Especially the Nakamur Group thing and the Nanotechnology and bioengineering. Other than that it doesn't have a lot of content and is likely OOG.

Can you cite the source of the template?
I don't think that factor just rules out the site as OOG (even though I'm convinced it is) because the Slusho.jp site uses free sounds from Flashkit.
