What if NASCAR was the wrong race league? He spelled "favourite" in the Queen's English fashion. We could be looking at one of the more international leagues like IRL. Sam Hornish, Jr., drives the #6 in IRL.

We should also be looking for a registration date around late September or the first week of October.

International

A simple search shows that all of the racetracks in USA are "INTERNATIONAL" tracks/speedways/raceways. And Talledaga was the weekend he posted.

Daytona International Speedway
New Hampshire International Speedway
Speedway International Inc.
Daytona International
Gateway International Raceway
Michigan International Raceway
USA International Speedway
Phoenix International Raceway
Firebird International Raceway
Sebring International Raceway

I think he was just saying that he wasn't posting/working that weekend. I also think it's just another stall tactic, as were the last few entries.

Here I am trying to give Sebring more work and you have to spoil it by letting him slack. Where's the fun in that?

Thoughts on convolution

One of the greatest gift any one person can give to the world is to speak or write in a concise and detailed fashion. By doing so the audience is left speechless, usually because the speaker was so thorough that no questions are left to be asked.

I'm still searching weather leads, without much luck, though I had similar thoughts on the non-US international speedways thread and I think it's worth looking into.

OVERWATCH drawing to an end.
It is with true sadness that I have to announce that, in light of the most recent losses from the cast and crew of OVERWATCH, I have decided to bring that project to a close.

I believe news of our most recent setbacks may be somewhat public (not surprising with the skills that some of you apparently possess), as we have received positive comments and suggestions from several people; and for these I am very appreciative.

Even with these unfortunate events and this tough decision, we would like to not do a complete Sopranos with this project (even if I did think that the Sopranos ending was perfect).

So, to that end, one last bit of interactivity if you choose to pursue it. If not, we all completely understand.

Where things stand:

Due to the leaks and the damage, Claudia has scrapped Julian's immediate involvement in OSPREY, and has instead directed his talents toward finding the person who has been leaking the OIS files.

It is very likely that Julian will find "petal". With is background, I'd put my money on it not taking too long.

"petal" has obviously heard the most recent file capture and is - rightly - very concerned. He has moved his online presence in a last effort to protect himself. He told everyone where he was going. It is still a publicly accessible site.

In the spirit of fair play (and since the world has changed since "petal" said where he was going) I will muse aloud: I get the feeling that the muses to which "petal" referred weren't 'strange' so much as 'aberrant' or 'irregular'; if aberrant muses hung out at international speedways (or vice versa) they might have favourites among those inspired; as I said, I no longer think the 6th favourite has any significance (things change, after all) - instead, I think "petal" would say now that he has taken on the identity of something under a bridge in Seattle.

"petal" has not changed his routine or "bugged out", fearing that doing so will give his pursuers a clue that they do not yet have. He needs help, but he is very afraid of initiating contact with people whose communications he is certain are being monitored by the OIS.

Whether anyone can find him and offer some sort of help before Julian gets to him is the question.

I've said it several times already, but I'll say it once more; it has been an extraordinary experience working on this project with all of you. As bittersweet as this last chapter is (regardless of what happens), I am very thankful for the opportunity to have experienced it with all of you. You have helped us learn so much, all of which we will use to make our future projects of this type that much better. We really hope to meet all of you again in Autumn County.

Thank you very much for your involvement and your support.

As a friend of mine says, More Soon,
David Valley

Brutal.

Anyway.

Clues-
Locations: aberrant=deviant? Muse some kind of synecdoche for art? deviantart?Busch beer could be a muse, for that matter.

Identities: having to do with things under Seattle bridges. Various bodies of water: Puget Sound, assorted lakes (e.g. Washington, Sammamish), bays (e.g. Elliott, Salmon, Portage), and rivers (e.g. Cedar, Black, Duwamish). Homeless people? Boats? Trash?

Well, it's a damn good thing I wasn't following this! It was fun working with you guys.

My thoughts on abandoning an ARG: To host an ARG requires alot of responsibility. Those that cannot follow through with it, should not be allowed to host further ARGs. (I hope Unfiction has something to say about this.)

You guys have my email (ip #, bank accts, children's social security #s, address, phone number, etc...lol). Feel free to drop me a note sometime, and I hope to see you on other (more planned out) ARGs. Currently, Silverladder, as you know. I have not been following it too closely, because I got sidetracked here when Surf cracked the ridiculous Finnish password! You guys are awesome.

OFFICIALLY not following this,
Coffeebean

I think we may have beaten Julian to the punch.

nice job.

seems like we get one more move.

i suppose we should be very careful, but fairly speedy, in deciding how to play this.

on the meta side, anyone have any idea what DV is talking about with his crew, etc?

We played it how we usually play it: balls out with vague innuendos.

Quote:
From 10/4: I left my recent home because I found another of the black treasures.

This one was like the ones that had troubled me so much before, but it was also very different. It was not marked as those vessels had been, and where the others had presented me with strange symbols this new treasure was as pure onyx.

Oh, how I wish, like Pandora, that I could put all the deamons back in their respective boxes.

But they have already sown their misery upon my friends.

And I fear they may yet turn their attention to my acquaintances.

And now I know that they truly hunt for me.

___

From 10/19:It is essentially a problem of information theory.

X does not believe Y is aware of the information X shares with Z.

Y knows. It doesn't matter that Y is only partially aware of how it knows what it knows. Y knows.

Y is very interested in making sure that neither X nor Z know that Y knows.

If Y changes behavior, X and Z may know.

If Y does something that could only be the result of knowledge of the communication between X and Z, they may know.

If Y says something that is related to knowing the communication between X and Z, they may know.

If X or Z realize, or even suspect, that Y knows, they may change their methods of communication - resulting in Y no longer knowing.

Which means it is time for Y to do something that Y would do if he didn't know.

Mort: Fremont Trolls anything like Moomins? I hear Fremont Trolls like VWs for dinner.

I'd love to help one eat some poultry, maybe a seahawk.

Surfzoned: Seahawk tastes awful. I've tried gator though and it was delicious. Wink

As for meta: Djinn Productions, DV's group, has quite a few personnel and surprising resources. They do some commercial work, but this stuff is for the love of it. Further clarification: they actually have technical staff who do the technical stuff like web design or set design or A/V.

perhaps I'll have an opportunity to catch you guys in chat at some point in the next few days. seems like a fairly reasonable ending, though so much for act 1. I just checked out the "daily murder" thread (i got an email of the trailhead, but had no time to look into it) and that game imploded a few days ago out of nowhere.

I'm thankful for the several months of agony we squeezed out of this and the fact that we had a higher body count than Daily Murder, even though they featured, you know, murders. Razz

Also, I'd hop into another Djinn story in a sec.
Also, you guys are the last people I'd want looking for me on the Internet. . . or given the survival rate of our collaborators, helping me look for someone else Razz

Still a little more story to be told, i expect...
