The Rice Game
Expand your vocabulary and donate rice

For the competitively wordy charity giver. Define words and for every one that you get right, the sponsors give 10 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program. Can be found here. Today, with great fecundity, I sit in my bivouac.

hm

yay, i donated 100 grains!

but in all seriousness, I'm wondering how much 90 grains really equals and if the rice will really get donated. 90 grains=a small bowl?

edit: OOPS, clicked the wrong thing. someone wanna move this to the thread regarding donating rice and words?

Edit: Moved. -SpaceBass

That is a lot of fun, but I have to write that up in the 40s, their definitions get pretty loose. Rather than word means (choose one of four words), they might want it to say word can be sort of connected to (one of four words). That's not to write that I cannot usually reason out which of the four to pick, but in a lot of cases it strikes me as a bit of a stretch, not meriting a means (as long as we are talking about what words mean).

Yeah...I tend to get stymied in the low 40s. Fun game, though! I went through 1000 grains without even thinking about it.

I donated about 1500 grains. Fun game! I tended to hover around the low-to-mid 30s. I'm going to keep playing, though--maybe it'll help my Verbal SAT scores! Smile
