Because we needed it. Really.
Apparently there are several people here who do not know or understand what spam and spamming is, and they continually and INCORRECTLY apply it against those who post unpopular or unagreed opinion. Things that are said as ACTIVE PARTICIPATION of a board is NOT SPAM.

So, to help stop the ignorance, here are the definitions of SPAM and SPAMMING. Sources at bottom.

SPAM:
Electronic junk mail or junk newsgroup postings. Some people define spam even more generally as any unsolicited e-mail. However, if a long-lost brother finds your e-mail address and sends you a message, this could hardly be called spam, even though it's unsolicited. Real spam is generally e-mail advertising for some product sent to a mailing list or newsgroup.


SPAMMING:
Spamming is the abuse of electronic messaging systems to indiscriminately send unsolicited bulk messages. It is the alteration or creation of a document with intent to deceive an electronic catalog or filing system. Some web authors use subversive techniques to get their sites to appear more frequently or higher in returned search results.

I think when people are saying spamming, they really mean TROLLING:

 		I think CloverfieldClues.com is on the right track.

This thread should be tagged [RANT] at least. To me it appears to be a flame of the bulk of the forum membership.

 		I use the word "spammer" as in a "troll".

I use a different definition than others, but I find that each deserves to be called the other.

 		Your masonic beliefs about the Statue of Liberty were irrelevant to that particular discussion so the posting of the trolling entry was a valid move.

There is no communistic conspiracy to silence the differing opinions of the membership, there's only the move to get rid of the conspiracy theories which have been peddled by a select collection of the membership.

Please strop trying to justify random statements as a 'personal opinion', an opinion is something along the lines of "I disagree because I personally believe-", a statement, which you've made, is "Third, here's a history lesson about the Statue of Liberty because apparently Americans don't know the truth."

You didn't seem to have any problem with anyone else stating THEIR "facts" about the SOL, which means that you are making your comments based on personal opinion - and now, on bias.
