[SPEC] Oldie but a Goodie..Remember this??
Connection with Sephora?

Hey y'all-
I was looking over all of the new information regarding taragruto and subsidaries. I was thinking with the whole idea about companies and how others may be involved. I remember when most of the craziness began, that the movie was redoing a store-front in California to make it look like NY, and why would they go through all the trouble? Then I realized that the store Sephora was the store, and they were owned by the Louis Vuitton and Moet Hennessey. Look hard at the trailer, when he asks the cameraman what are you going to do without Rob? They are drinking Hennessey. So, there is the connection, but then I looked into searching Sephora for products, dead end back then, but this time, I search Kaitei no mitsu, you know the special ingredient. I got this page: http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hierarchy.jhtml?brandId=5843&searchString=Kaitei%20no%20mitsu
why? I have no clue at all, I've looked through it, but have yet to find anything, please let me know what you all think??

Coincidence.

It corrected katei to katie (I checked by doing other searches). Not sure about mitsu.

Either way, it's irrelevant. Makeup is surely not the secret ingredient (AND I DON'T WANT ANY JOKES ATTEMPTING TO PLAY ON THIS FACT, SUCH AS, "MAYBE THE MONSTER WILL PUT ON LIPSTICK TO SCARE US TO DEATH")

I admire your dedication though Smile Always good to have someone who is dedicated aboard.

I keep thinking about that "clue" too, ever since someone spotted the Sephora front built on set. Maybe we overlooked something on Sephora's website. But then again, if we couldn't find any given clue with all the noise in this game, I think the PM's would point us there, right?. They probably wouldn't afford to waste an overlooked clue in some website. But it's worth keeping an eye on it.

Hmmm, usually when brands appeared in movies they have to pay for it, right? I think they just got a deal with LVMH to help defray the costs of the movie somewhat. I guess it could be related to the game, but I'm more inclined to think its just advertising, assuming that the Sephora/Hennessy logo actually appears in the movie in a conspicuous way.

There's a great deal of discussion in the media about advertising moving away from conventional commercials and ads and into product placement within entertainment media. With the advent of TiVo and other PVRs with ad skip/blocking, as well as browsers with ad blocking, it's becoming more and more obvious that people are finding ways to never see conventional advertising. Product placement is both seen as less obtrusive and virtually impossible to eliminate. You can in part thank E.T. for this - the world hardly knew what Reece's Pieces were before that movie. To think that M&M/Mars declined to have their product used in the movie...
