I'd like to ask what you mean by 'original image'?
Is it meant to be of the monster? Do you mean it has to be 100% originally crafted imagery - no stock photos for background or anything?

I'd like to suggest that if possible, this should begin much sooner. We may very quickly start having trailers, posters, and a title from Paramount/Bad Robot/JJ Abrams/et al so we may have issues with suitably judging what's in the competition. Right now we are at a point that we have a pretty static set of official items to influence us (as creators or voters). Someone could get started on something we'd like, but a new trailer that conflicts with it could change our vote. In a sense of the most possible fairness, it'd be nice to be working in a more static set of parameters.
Seeing as there's very strong indications that a trailer is coming Nov. 16th, we might want to try to get submissions by then.
Yes, that's short notice - but I think that'd be enough time for many of the folks here working with relatively limited tools to do as much as they probably could. More sophisticated tools used over more time can yield better results - so the more time there is to make a trailer, the more likely a 'pro' would just win. Shortening the time creates a slightly more level playing field.

For the trailer comp, do you mean an actual video or simply a script? Perhaps you could do both. A script would be easier, encouraging more people to enter and would allow for more creativity (in some ways).

And might I also suggest a title competition? That can be started very quickly.

I'm all for it. I would just ask, I have exams and school stuff up until the 14th of December, so maybe could we perhaps possibly perchance extend the competition by a week, two weeks, so I can enter a trailer? Two weeks is enough to vote anyway...

In a couple of days(not tomorow), ill open a new thread where I will be the only one to post in there. Submissions will be made to me, and i will post them where they belong. This way, they are 1) annonomus(sp so kill me) and 2) organized. All submissions should be sent to rewcokSPLATsurfy.net if it doesnt work out than ill just drop it, but i think this can be fun. Any more suggestions, alll are welcome

I was thinking, if there's a best trailer and spoof trailer, couldn't the same thing be applied to the trailer script competition?

Also, you might want to apply that to the other ones as well, though I'd suggest against a funny title or monster pic competition, it'd be so easy to make something bad for those that you'd be practically spammed with hundreds of worthless entries done in about 5 seconds each. Your choice though.

By 'spoof', do you mean 'funny' or its common definition, 'parody'? If the latter, I'd suggest changing it to 'funny' since parodies aren't the only things you can laugh at.

And a few questions:

1. Is there any time limit for the trailer, word limit for the title/script, etc?
2. Are there any prizes, and if so what?
