[SPEC] Who's the God Killer?

This thread is OOC. ICly, I don't trust the lot of you with this info. ICly, I don't have access to even HALF of this information. Besides, OOCly, I think we Agents can't find the God Killer, and much less, STOP the God Killer. Because the God Killer either already is in hiding...or he's in the top echlons of power.

Suspects:
-Agent Hook (off my list, even though TGI Friday makes good points. In hiding.)
-Serger (The "Pi in the Sky" guy. Seems like a former Corproate Sevener. Terrorist-sounding, after all. Likely in Hiding.)
-Tara Mercer (Wife of Mr. Mercer, so she got a reason for killing. Plus, she know subcue chips quite well. She can't be caught because she's in power, and likely have an influence in how Medicorp works. It's like accusing the President of being a serial killer. That's just dumb.)
-DefenseCorp (No, I actually don't believe this, at least ICly. But some GREEN Karma agents do on the Interface. Now, ICly, I think of this as dumb. OOCly, it has some plausiblity. At the very least, it excuses us for our incompentence in stopping the murders.)
-No One. The God Killer may in fact not exist. Maybe everything really did happen as accidents. This is the most unlikeiest of theories, but one my IC character believes most frevently.

And, uh, that's about all. Any other theories? Note the whole thread is OOC.

Silent: Technically all threads on Unforums are OOG. That is the entire point of Unforums actually. That being said...:

I really doubt that it is Tara Mercer but she could be involved somehow. She seems to be aware of details concerning the death of the woman in red, referring to it as a cover-up for which I (Agent Hook) was responsible. She also told me that I have performer countless favors and tasks for her between now and 2037 and that she could likely never pay me back adequately or something along those lines. At the very least she and I are involved in something kind of shadey in the future.

I really doubt that I am the god-killer if only because I was not one of the very first players in the game, and I am strictly just a player at this point aside from the involvement of my future self as part of the meta-plot. Unless they went into the planning of this game and intentionally left the identity of the god-killer open (which is unlikely) or they changed the identity of the god-killer to have it be one of their players instead (even more unlikely) then we can say with some certainty that I am not the god-killer. The question is whether or not I am involved with the killer in the future, and if so why am i involved and how. Because I made it pretty clear to several NPC characters that I would kill the god-killer if I found him because I could not tolerate the people of Deus City being so abused.

To be honest it could very well be Fujimoto even. First of all, he has a special team of children who are being brainwashed out in the wastelands to serve as a private assault and defense force. Second of all, in many of the reported murders Fujimoto is the only person with any likely motive for murder. Mary Jansen wanted her daughter to not enroll in his elite security program, the various skivers were really only ever a threat to the illusion of DefenseCorp omniscience and omnipotence, and even Senator Mercer was potentially a corporate rival in the power markets thanks to all those amazing technologies he was developing solely on his own. Fujimoto is a villain in this game and it is worth considering him in this case.

But those are just my thoughts.[/i]

Ha, it's funny how much your thoughs OOC are so close to those of you IC...

Personally I believe the God Killer is merely a creation of the media. Accidents do happen! If there is any "Killer" at all, it's probably just "copy cat" killings (I'm sorry, I know there's a better word for it, I just can't think of it right now), after the original story.

Blah, that's my two cents.

Incidently, Hook (OOC of course), any ideas what future Hook has got planned for the 30th? I'd like to know, so if there's any blood involved I'm only wearing my second best suit...

True, but sometimes, people on Unforums are willing to allow for the information to be laundered ICly, so that they can use the info ICly to help complete whatever goals that is possible. I'd like to stress that all info is OOC, hopefully to make it clear that I don't want my information laundered in case it is correct. Besides, a reminder to sepreate OOG and IG is always good, considering that Deus City is a unique ARG.

That's because I play myself as I believe I would behave if the situation were real. For me, part of the fun of ARG's is the opportunity to just be myself and explore how I would most likely respond and react given a completely unrealistic or unlikely scenario. In real life I am a union organizer and labour rights activist with the Industrial Workers of the World, and in real life I am a semi-nomadic traveller who hangs out with hobos and squatters and other kinds of street people, et cetera and so forth.

I tell you, not only has Deus City been lots of fun but it has also really helped me look at how I really feel about activism as well as provided me with a good opportunity to practice my rhetoric skills. I would say the only real big difference between OOC Hook and IC Hook is that I have a much more easy sense of humor and I am not nearly as much of a sourpuss.

Wink

As much as I would like to say that I know about Reclamation and all that, all I can do is say that I am just as much in the dark. I intentionally left it as open-ended as possible so the PMs could run with it if they wanted it to happen and just not have it happen if they did not. You can check the wiki at Despoiler for my own speculations though. Just search Reclamation and all.

First, it's OOG, not OOC. Second, I hold that it's the PMs (or IG, Defense Corp) imagination that created the GK. How do we know that Mercer is dead or that anythign is actually happening? I say Defense Corp is just feeding up info to keep us occupied until they actually want us to do something. OOG, I think the PMs made up GK without thinking it through, just as a way to keep us busy.

To clarify: OOC refers to Out of Character. Meaning that I am speaking outside of my character, Silent. I got used to tabletop, so I use OOC a lot when, in ARGs, it usually means OOG.

I got introduced to the small indie RPG known as PARANOIA, and play that a lot online. Also was into many forum games that have tabletop-like mechanics, altough many of them did shut down.

Ok, I'm a complete dork. I should have remembered OOC from my attempts at "tabletopping". You may all point and laugh. Smile

And Hook- WHY DON'T I SEE YOU ONLINE ANYMORE!!!! I MISS TALKING TO YOU!!!! You and I disagree on lots of things, but you're still hella cool. Cool From my point of view, I've seen so many things get started by the PMs and never finished that I pretty much doubt everything put out. I'm really hoping they prove me wrong. I'm bored and need something to keep me amused.

taurenfreak, I am creating an ARG that plays similar to Deus City, altough hopefully with more active PMs and more interactity. Is it okay to contact you when it's ready?

Oh, and I'm putting in my two-weeks' notice to Deus City right now.
