QU13E [CF] "It's in between the echoes where you'll find me" It's Halloween again and sparkrent/qu13e has made a return.
There's an archived forum for this here .
Since there's only a few of us from a few years ago still around, I/we wanted to post this here to let those interested get involved.
You can find out all the past details by looking at the archived forum and what's brand new is here in Sparkrent's LJ. One of the most promising indications that he/she/it is making a return is the reappearance of www.qu13e.com where it all started and which has been off line for a long time.
There's nothing on the site as of right now, but it's there.
There is very possibly a puzzle of some sort in one or both of the LJ posts so please feel free (and encouraged) to post your spec.
Edit: changed topic title.

i'm just bumping this up to see if anyone has any ideas about this code from sparkrent's livejournal page.
happy halloween!
edit: thinking about these brackets above
***
Curly brackets (so-called in British English; North American English prefers braces) are sometimes used in prose to indicate a series of equal choices: "Select your animal {goat, sheep, cow, horse} and follow me". They are used in specialized ways in poetry and music (to mark repeats or joined lines). The musical terms for this mark joining staves are "accolade" and "brace." In mathematics they delimit sets. In many programming languages, they enclose groups of statements

I was looking at that too, but can't see what it could be. What really caught my eye is the subject "THREE ONE ONE ZERO HEY SAY FIFTEEN" , doesn't seem like it should just be random. If it was just numbers I would try to mess with it, but the inclusion of "HEY SAY" (anagram with the combination "ye" from your(labfly) email subject?) throws me off.
On another note, the addy qu13eSPLAT qu13e.com, isn't functional.
Also the vertical text "I am the key..." may be in response to this part of the email I sent off a month ago.

This door may have closed, but I can already smell the rot.... it shouldn't be long now.
Now where's that key....
To put it in context.

October 31 is Splinternails birthday, you know. That's how I found you, searching for him (I read an article on you on the net. Wow, I'm a fan of your work!).
Anyway, it's kind of funny or strange or both, because I'm pretty confident (honored even) that I'm one of the handful of people who have ever met him more than once - a la Random Martin.
Turns out a lot of people are still looking for him, so if you find him first let me know?
I'll do the same.
Regards,
Nate Zoe

Mabey you should bluff him, tell him you found random, and see how he responds.
Is it possible that there are other directories on the qu13e webpage even though the root is empty? Wouldn't think it would be, but I don't know a thing about web design.

and now the live journal for sparkrent has been deleted.
http://sparkrent.livejournal.com/
(check out the source of the above - weirdness)
and i'm just moving this email over here for others to see also

it is from 9starspillssplatgmail.com
the subject: The answers is YE ... Re: qu13e
so, Anais Tumach is definitely an anagram. you're right, Delusional, there are so many possibilities. if we stick to only two words it narrows our choices. i came up with "shamanic tau" (tried adding them to the url for qu13e.com and came up with nothing.)
if my memory serves me...qu13e loves riddles that involve numbers and translations. with that in mind i did a little research on "shamanic tau" and found the following:
Tau: The twenty-second and last letter of the Hebrew alphabet, Th or T. Represents the number 400. The seventh and last of the seven "double letters." A Hebrew word meaning "tau cross." Corresponds to Saturn, the 32nd Path (between Yesod and Malkuth), and Tarot trump XXI The World.
and then a bit about shamans and japan
Shamanism is still widely practiced in the Ryukyu Islands (Okinawa), where shamans are known as 'Nuru' (all women) and 'Yuta'. 'Nuru' generally administrates public or communal ceremonies while 'Yuta' forcuses on the civil or private matters. Shamanism is also practiced in a few rural areas in Japan proper. It is commonly believed that the Shinto religion is the result of the transformation of a shamanistic tradition into a religion.
i know i could be way off with this but it might lead us somewhere

sorry for the double posting, but since there are only two of us looking at this, it is bound to happen
in the email from Nate Zoe we have 369nazo (the yahoo address)
interesting tidbit from wikipedia on 369:
369 is the magic constant of the 9×9 normal magic square and n-Queens Problem for n = 9; there are 369 free polyominoes of order 8. With 370, a Ruth-Aaron pair with only distinct prime factors counted.

edit*** (instead of triple posting)
i found this on live journal. could be a player, bu since there are so few of us...

Sure. But what about the live journal updates? We know those are "IG".
You think it's really just a coincidence that qu13e was re registered the day sparkrent declares "I am Qu13e now"?
As for the entry you found Labfly, I don't think it's a player.
From what I can tell splinterworld and splinternails had a decent internet following. A lot of them probably know nothing about Qu13e.

the sparkrent livejournal page is back. no changes that i can see.
i don't think it's a game jack. although it would be difficult to tell since the pm has such a tight curtain. i'm not sure someone would go to such lengths as to claim the domain name - but, i guess, it's possible.
i'm going to continue to play along a bit and see if it leads anywhere... been a while since anything has intrigued me.
the jpg is named 8834859

I think the image name is a LJ thing and not user set.
I sent another email to qu13eSPLAT qu13e.com since the site was "updated", and I haven't yet gotten the failed delivery notice.
I also think that there has to be something on the site now. Whether or not we are supposed to find it now, I don't know. But that's probably the best place to look. I'm guessing using clues from the lj and emails, cause that's all we got.
Although there is always the possibility that there is/was and never will be anything since random martin is really a highly disturbed schizophrenic currently locked away in a mental facility. While we, by validating his delusions, are only pushing him to the brink and will years down the road will here story's of a deranged Japanese mental patient who brutally murdered everyone in his ward because "the clock wouldn't stop" and "the invisible eye" is watching him.......... or not.
