I repeat, though, from going through it and talking to the author, this is a timewaster, not an ARG. No interactive elements, and only one puzzle. Still fun, though. Good luck.

You've talked to the author???? How long did it take to put this all together? What was the motivation?

You can chat with him yourself through the magic of who is. I recommend finishing first, though.

Postscript

After listening to brokenkites music on MySpace for a few months, I was drawn to check out Origami Shadows again. For old times sake.

Hey, there is some new information.

Quote:
What truths, darkly, driving like nails
into the box, with
signed fate, sealed and delivered;
Ah, what truths shall come, and pass!

Fortune, weary at her wheel, weaving wonders unseen
for times that fade on other planes,
whilst endlessly we toil,
scraping meaning from salted soil.

Unearthed! At last!
Old treasures sought, which rise again, to live. And
with each incarnation, her hands torn to the bone,
she must carry on,
so that the thread
may reach the loom.

And links. The original story starts with 70617468. There is another now: ShadowFolding

How do you fold a shadow? How do you unfold the truth?
Maps links you to all the page maps from the original story, like giant spider webs, courtesy of Rowan in small print at the bottom right of the page.
Flashes gives you all the photos & artwork.
+ is a credit page, I think.
Quote:
"Let's talk about the darkness," I suggested, thinking of the stars.

"You're thinking about the light, aren't you?" You asked, understanding the words that I left unspoken.

"I'd reach for them, but I'd always fall short," I admitted, remembering everything I'd failed at.

"You've made my life worth living," you said, leaning closer to me.

Where did it end? Where does it begin?

Quote:
Thank You

Laura C. | Carie W. | Neil M. | Brokenkites | Rose

I guess it's our coda.
I still have my copies of all the content on my home computer. Some day I'm going to open it all up and re-read the novel.

Wow, this is a cool story. I just made it past the checkpoint. So far it kinda reminds me of Vanilla Sky. Some tips:

Everything is relevant.

CTRL-A is your friend.

So is Tab.

So is Notepad.

And the web page is hosting 2 teaser trailers (short movies that have been on the MySpace already).

"What if the greatest love of your life never existed at all?"

EDIT TO ADD: http://www.myspace.com/origamishadows
A video and music is there, and the start of a blog.

http://www.origamiShadows.com/ has updated, with a video. At the end of the video is this binary code.

Quote:

01101001011000010110110000100000

01110100011010010110111101101110

translates to:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Special Thanks to ARGN/Unfiction

It's late and I may have wrote the code wrong because it doesn't exactly translate to what I got in the spoiler but enough so that I was able to tell what it was suppose to say.

Got this via email overnight as well:

The pilot episode of Origami Shadows is up!!

Check it out at http://origamishadows.com !!

The film clocks in at about 7 minutes long and stars Kevern Deaton, Constance Palmer, and Bradley Occhipinti. The episode was written and directed by me!

I also did the score for the whole piece, and you can download it if you like it off of the link on the main page. The songs are: From the Darkness, Jotun, First Stage Prototype, Islands, What If, and First Stage Prototype (Dialogue Version)

I also put links up to add Origami Shadows as a myspace friend, add the video to your profile, and a link for voting on the video on November 8.

Let me know what you think about the video, and if you like it, please pass it on to a friend!

What does this say?

Brokenkites has this in his myspace status line and I can read it, decode it or translate it and I'm going out of my mind wanting to know what it says.

Code:
звезды блуждающие, которым блюдется мрак тьмы на веки

It's Russian and babelfish translates to,

Quote:
the star wandering, by which will be observed the gloom of the dark to the eyelids
