Something about the 'two girls' pic
(and it's not the demon-in-the-hair thing again)

Quite simply, I moved the left half over to the right, and...

this came up.

Rather interesting, wouldn't you agree?

OMG! YOU FOUND QUASIMODO WOMAN! THE WOMAN WHO, WHEN YOU PUT TWO HALVES OF A PICTURE TOGETHER, IS OBVIOUSLY TWO DIFFERENT WOMEN!!!!11!! OMG!

Seriously, though, it's both nothing and clearly two different people. Smile

You'll have to forgive them. There is a strange hatred on this board for anyone who dares talk about something that has been mentioned in another thread. They are quite unusually obsessed with it here to a fault.
I have reasons (which I have also posted here) to agree with your view of the picture.

Some say that it is "obviously" two different women; however if it was obvious, it would not have been remarked upon by so many people, and the very idea of putting the two sides together would not have occured to ayone if it wasn't meant to be so obvious and blatant a splice job.

Others say that the theory has been discredited and proved false; though that is totally untrue. It is only discredited and false in their own opinion.

The issue is that some people believe there is enough evidence to support the spliced picture theory, while others believe there is insufficient proof. Therefore it ALL remains in the realm of opinion and speculation and there is NOTHING wrong with continuing to discuss it.

Lucky for the thread creator, found someone else who was wrong on the thread :-p

Joking joking, we appreciate your hard work, and we're glad that you bothered to search a little bit on that picture (hence the not the demon thing), but it has been said before.

And saneman, please refrain from spamming. It is the same person, the lighting and effects from photoshop have made it look like it wasn't. While we appreciate your overzealous use of capitals to stress your point, it was quite unnecessary.

To me they look nothing like the same. The nose shape is different. The eyes are shaped different. The curving of the cheek is different.

What is throwing everyone off I believe, is a trick of Proportions. You learn this in art class. If you zoom up on two different people's faces they begin to look alike (assuming the sex and race is the same of course) You see Humans have consistant proportions. And the closes you get the harder it is the see the differences.

The top of your ear lines up with your eyebrows.
You eyes are an "eye" length apart
You nose is an "eye" length long
The corners of your mouth are directly under the center of your eyes
The lobes of your ears line up with the bottom of your nose

These are proportions that most humans have. We use this basis information in portait drawing (along with many more proportions) to make sure we put things in the right spot...

Have you seen that trick that Psychics do, where they take your photo and a photo of some famous dead person, and line it up so it looks like you are the reincarnation of say "George washington?" Well thats how the trick is done. They use a zoomed in version of your photo, they say "So you can see clearly the simularities" Well it's because most human's maintain the same proportions.

The closer you zoom in to a photo of two people, the more you see the proportions only, and not the differences that make human's unique. Althought they look similar up close, i can see slight differences.

So in my opinion, it's obviously two different people

Cool post. Even without that reason, I just don't think they look similar enough for this to be such an issue.

In the past, I think a lot of people thought that if this were 2 people, it was Marlena and Lily. But while I'm not ready to jump on the 1 girl/2 pics bandwagon just yet, I don't think Marlena is in this picture. Why? She has green eyes. The girls in this pic both have brown eyes. On her myspace page, Rob even comments on Marlena's eyes telling her they look like pimentos. Yes, yes, she could be wearing contacts, the lighting could be weird, I get it. But hypothetically, if it's not Marlena, then who is it? The only other known character w/ dark hair is Beth and it really doesn't look like her. I'm inclined to think the one on the right is probably Lily, but who is on the left? And I guess there's always the possibility that neither of these women are even characters in the movie.

This is true, but if you look look at one of marlena's pictures, it does appear she has brown-ish eyes. But I agree, there are inconsistencies with marlena.

Im not going to re-write all the reason why I think this theory is bogus. Although, I dont blame you for thinking so, good to be inquisitive. So here is a link to a page with my response"http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21573&start=60
