I don't really find his posts all that entertaining or informative but I say let him post. At least he is not calling us retarted.

Anywho, I'd be a little surprised if the PMs checked the forums all that often. They certainly don't do much else all that often. I agree they probably aren't in any forums posting either. Thats not because they would care what the TOS of any site is though. Its just that we aren't the only forum discussing this movie, Shocked shocker, I know, they would have to keep up with a dozen or more sites if they needed to post a hint here and there. They probably check the internetzers rumblings when something new is out there, making sure its getting found. Thats probably the long and short of it.

I thought SER-IH was hinting/speculating that we DID control the outcome. Has there ever been a movie where the audience controlled what happened on the screen. I know there are plays where the audience determines the outcome through voting but I can't think of a movie. I remember the movie Clue being different depending on where you saw it but that is a heck of a lot easier to do then letting the audience have a say.

I think it would be pretty cool to be able to make some decisions for the characters. Every decision would change the movie slightly. You could probably even tie all the scenarios back into each other with minimal effort. Sounds more like something made for DVD though doesn't it?

His posts weren't disrupting or harsh and could have easily been ignored, yet he was told to stop.
Giving clues is not against the rules.... unless you're a PM...
hmmm.

Bye SER-IH.

No conspiracy here. And I'm not an admin, just a player that tidies up. I have no information that SER-IH is a PM (just in case that one has legs and runs away with us Wink ) - if an admin had that information SER-IH's account would have been closed already.

The reason that posting in code is not encouraged is because unforum is for everyone to post and read, old hands and newbs alike. Posting in code puts up barriers making it that bit more difficult for newer people to get involved and increases the likelihood of posts asking what various posts mean in addition to those with questions about 1-18-08 itself.

Fine, ill comment for you. You do not work for bad robot. OK, im assuming 100%. You taped the scene under the bridge. So what? Show us something. I can say, hey you know what? I work for paramount. I am a pm. does that make me a pm, no. Check out his website, no doubt he was instrumental early on, but it doesnt mean he works for BR.

Bad German techno does that, especially when it's introduced like a dry ice cube to a cup of coffee.

I've seen this done twice. Once on a dvd and once in an actual movie-style setup. The dvd is (a duh for horror movie fans) the newest Final Destination film, which allowed you, with the use of buttons on your remote, to choose either if or how a character would die. I thought it was poorly executed... The other example i have was at the Chicago Planetarium. It was an interactive trip to Mars, where the audience, as the "crew" of the mission, had to make decisions about 1)where on the planet to land [my group chose the Ice Cap], 2)Where to set up base [we choose a cave in an outcropping of rock], 3)How to get oxygen and water, and so on. On the back of every chair was a controller with a button pad, much like Who Wants to be a Millionaire uses. You were given around 3 to 5 choices everytime, and each choice had an effect on the future choices and the outcome of the mission. This was close to 7 years ago, so I'm sure it's either been enhanced or scrapped by now, but a film with this is very possible. With the advent and realitive cheapness of Bluetooth, the remotes could be wireless, inexpensive and distrubuted at theatres eventually.

– Classic Troll Tactic Number 5: When all else fails, claim to be
leaving forever. Trolls who claim they are leaving never do, of course;
you can bet that anyone who proclaims, "I'm never coming back here,"
will most certainly at least check back for responses, and probably
will not be able to resist posting again.

Thanks for that Mr Cloverfieldclues.com. You got me. Well done.
Yes I do 'hide under a bridge' and, oh look, I'm posting again. I just couldnt resist.

This is a forum right? Or is it a shameless excersise in self promotion. I've been told by several posters to stop or be banned, for what exactly? Posting in code? Where?

I wouldn't be here if certain people weren't so desperate for thier 'food drop' that they broke the trail. You broke into the myspace accounts. Its just not criket. It's the reason things have gone very quite on the 'character' strand.

But hey at least you can all disscus things like "I found the $11 guy" and "[spec] What do you think the monsters fave pizza topping is??" good luck with that.

To all the people who haven't been so narky, I do apologise for my tone.
Bullying is just shameful.

Oh, and no I'm not a PM (?) or a naughty andriod, I'm just involved.

PM = Puppet Master: Someone involved in the creation/running of an ARG. The people behind the scenes who are "pulling the strings". Also referred to as TPTB (The Powers That Be)

I haven't heard anything about the MySpace accounts being breached. What are you referring to?

I know a Photobucket account was hacked, but that was a while ago. Shame on the people that did that, and shame on the PMs for having such an easy password to guess.

You're intentionally being vague about your involvement, but you seem to be implying that you are a PM, and based on your name that you are working for Hi-Res - a company in the UK involved in running ARGs.

If you are actually involved in the game, then you are breaking Unfiction's rules by posting here:

Quote:
This includes posting under your regular account as if you're playing your own game when you're really just prodding people along. It also includes posting under anonymous unregistered nicks or creating new registered nicks to masquerade as players or in-game characters.

Don't shoot the messenger. I am not an Admin here, and I don't make the rules - I just know what they are.

BTW, If you are not involved in the ARG, but you think you know something, they just tell us. There's no need to beat around the bush.
