Also got the symbol from the map

http://aes.iupui.edu/rwise/banknotes/saudi_arabia/SaudiArabiaPNew-20Riyals-1998_b.jpg

K.S.A. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

20 Riyal note has it on it.

Also the watermarked symbol from the directories.
Does resemble the coat of arms of saudi arabia in a circle
http://flagspot.net/flags/sa.html

Oh one hit on viewing the watermarks. If you have a lcd monitor or laptop simply change the angle that you are viewing. they show up better that way.

Also there is some arabic watermarked like the coat of arms in the directories pic as well. I can't easily make it out but it looks similar to the term "arabia".

I keep wanting to look in the Jeddah area since it looks to be the largest city on the red sea coast in S.A.

But still no sign of the darn building.

Excellent discovery, Godai. It's worth mentioning that the symbol appears on the fourth set of currency featuring King Fahad, which was just discontinued in May 2007 to begin printing of a fifth series depicting King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz. The fourth series remains legal tender, of course, and the new series has no twenty riyal note, as far as I can tell.

Stamp:

Looks like the symbol on the map is related specifically with the 100 year aniversary of the K.S.A.
And the stamp also has the symbol that appears in the dirrectory waterstamp.

Another pic of the seal:

Grrr. the conference for the celebration was held in riyadh. which foils the red sea coast reference.

Latest e-mail from JC: apparently the words in the file listing translate to "Al Madinah".
Al Madinah /ælħuˈduːd æʃːæmæːˈliːjæ/ (Arabic: المدينه ) is a province of Saudi Arabia, located on the country's west side, along the Red Sea coast. It has an area of 173,000 km² and a population of 1,310,400 (1999). Its capital is the sacred city of Medina. Other towns include Yanbu' al Bahr and Badr Hunayn. The governor of the province is Prince Abdulaziz ibn Majid, a grandson of the founder of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz ibn Saud.
We've got another prince....well, there's a really big problem regarding royal family that I hadn't realized: the first King of Saudi Arabia had like 50 sons and daughters altogether. So we're facing a really huge list of suspects, including his living sons and all his grandchildren. i know that we had already narrowed everything down to one person (Khaled bin Sultan), but the Red Sea reference and Al Madinah detail are making me wonder if we weren't on the wrong lead.

Also are there communications that go out to the whole "Team Unfiction" if so how can I get added. Or is it just the same stuff that if you put your email in the webpage?

Also google earth people have found the site before and attached a note at the site. There are two posts.

Translation of Final Directory
As found on the server JC got the satellite image from.

I asked a friend of mine (a professional Japanese translator) to take a look at the name of that last directory. Here's what he said:

Quote:
I took a look at the characters you sent. I don't recognize the combination of the two characters together and the combination doesn't show up in any of my Japanese dictionaries, so I'm guessing it's probably Chinese. And as I just happen to have a Chinese dictionary on hand, I looked it up and in Chinese it means something like "remedy" or "repair" or "correction". Or something to that effect.

UnknownJapanese.jpg
Description   I don't know if that gets us any closer, but it confirms the Chinese connection.

Yeah forgot to post.

First symbol = Ne
Second = To
Thid Kanji = Rescue

So it may be something along the lines of Net Rescue.

Yeah, Sylvia!!!

So now all we have to do is figure out what the heck it is. Similar-looking area to the north of this site may give us a clue.

Also, there's a radio antenna just to the left of the image (not sure it shows up on the satellite picture). I'm also curious about the discoloration on the roof of the one building (or whatever it is, since there's no shadow, probably something sunken). That shows on the sat image, but not on the GE image.
