I'm bored as hell right now. Can we get something new already? A trailer? The Bold Futura website? A new JamieandTeddy.com video? Slusho machines? Some cornbread? I hate these lulls.

You could uh... edit the Wiki? Very Happy

if cloverfield sucks, it puts all of jj abrams career at risk. No one will ever trust his name ever again as a producer or w.e. i wouldnt be surprised if half of us flew to California to find him and tar and feather him if the movies a flop. This has taken up like what? four months of your lives so far?

This is a bigger risk every time they add to the hype in any way, but I don't think it would necessarily destroy JJ. I think if this flops AND Lost goes to pot, that'd be more likely to kill his career. There's plenty of support and interest in Lost, and many of those people know or care little about this project.

I think when the full trailer arrives, the interest will explode and the campaign will really get rolling. That's when JJ's biggest risk comes in. I think we should be concerning ourselves with being ready to answer a lot of questions after that begins. We've been at this longer than most, so we'll be seen as the ones to ask about it.

I've spent my spare time since about mid-August playing with this, but I wouldn't say it's exactly been 'consuming'. If this wasn't here, I'd have found something else to fill my relaxation time. Nice thing is, this is a cheap hobby! In the end it'll probably cost me a movie ticket, maybe a tank of gas if I got to some uF premiere gathering near me.

what makes you so certain this movie ("Cloverfield")
won't suck as well?
lol.
it's a 50/50 chance.
With all this hype and no show...
how the hell do we know if its a hit or a miss?
Guess we won't know until it comes out.
All this hype just makes me laugh at this point.

And I have no idea how B.S. got into the top 10.
But, that's a whole different thing. lol.

i aint hypin shit man. just sayin the fuckin mist is gonna suck and quite frankly...so no matter if ur own movie is pretty sucky u wudnt wanna show it in front of a crappy flick like that.

chances are 50:50 that beowulf sucks hard too but still the mist is gonna b far worse.

Mist

If Mist stays true to the Stephen King short story, it should be a good flick.

being a fan of the Beowulf story, I dont think that the movie looks that bad. Trust me there was way worse trailers that came out that looked horrible that people hyped up way more than Beowulf.

Remember Dragon Wars a couple months back? It was all over myspace and tv and that movie looked so horrible.

I really hope the new trailer is going to be shown before Beowulf because I'm really starting to get bored. We've been on a dryspell for quite some time now.

Hey! That depends on who you call "serious." If I'm included, then sure, but if I'm not, I'm gonna bitch about it.

I know it's a bit evil to say such a thing. but...
I was poking around the Apple trailers site a bit, working on some 'cache ripping'. In checking the page sources for the URLs, I noticed there's a fairly reliable naming convention used for their teasers and trailers. When there's only one teaser, it's name just has 'tsr' before the encoded resolution.
Could be annoying, but the 1-18-08 video is labeled 'tsr' alright...
But it's "tsr1".
Could we end up seeing another teaser, no real info, no title?
Just some new footage with sparse clues to drive us nuts?

Nah, they wouldn't do that to us...

i think at this point they have to wide-release an official trailer but maybe "tsr2" will be an online exclusive thing.

id be down for that
