I realise there's over 1,000 posts in this thread now but folks, it really does pay to read through the entire thread before starting to post stuff in it Smile

No probs mate Smile No need to apologise! Appreciate we all want to help each other out to try and make sense of this. And I'm just like you, someone eager to find out the answer to unlocking #8 Smile

Domino 8 - Waiting

Cheers mates,

After spending all my weekend on meats (had a t-bone as lunch yesterday) I have now made my mind and I think we have to wait a bit for number 8. Wait until the Annual Tipping Festival is over. So, by this time, Pedro Guzmam will be back from his meeting w/ the Mayor, as well as Guirardo Buitagro (watchmaker) and Adelmo Rocha (fireman volunteer).

My question is: WHEN does the Annual Tipping Festival take place? Há há há I've searched everywhere for a date (within this week or so), even in the Crete web page (where it has a link to Rocha firemen), so at least I would know how long to wait. But have failed. I'm calling off a day to rest my mind and refresh 'cause we're completely stuck in number 8 and we're only going round in circles.

Good luck to ya all. And see ya in a couple of days. Good things come to those who wait.

P.S. If you come across any Spanish clue to be translated, just ask me. Will be my pleasure.

I *think* there is a minor change in the guzmam source code

Quote:
<Coremetrics>
script language="javascript1.1" src="assets/scripts/coremetrics/v40/eluminate.js" ></script>
script language="javascript1.1" src="assets/scripts/coremetrics/cmdatatagutils.js" ></script>

script language = "javascript1.1" type = "text/javascript" >
cmCreatePageviewTag( "index" // Page ID
, "GT : GB : EN : BU" // Category ID
, null
);
</script>

Can someone please double check this for me

Edited to get the code to display properly

Hmmm well spotted, I definitely never spotted that before (although it may have been there a while, and we just completely missed it!)

so.....

so wat does that mean? wat has changed on the actual site?

think of it this way.. think of how comparatively easy all the other dominos where compared to this one. we have searched every single nook and cranny and we have come up with nothing. we do know the right sites but we do have to wait. the code in the painting, the numbers written there, they were easy to spot. its not gonna be as difficult as making shapes out of carefully positioned piles of meat.
we wait. thats wat we do.
tick follows tock follows tick follows tock

we wait!

Yes, i was thinking along those lines. the source code title changes with the meat type. Coremetrics is a browsing behaviour company. i cannot see any difference between each source code though.
Brain still ticking!!

source code
?

red hatty,

do you really think that guinness would put clues in the source code?

I know it is very tempting to look at this and think we have found something,

but the average person isn't going to know anything about source, yet alone access it. could it just be a programmers in joke???

i still say it has to be something soooooo obvious, we just cannot see it!

so annoying, but i love it!

What it may mean is that they are doing the work necessary before loading the actual Java code in - the page MAY be in the process of becoming active

Red Hatty is right. As bonfire goes out of my window, they're now updating Carniceria's web site.

It doesn't mean they are changing things so a average Guinness drinker (like me) would never guess... but definitely they're updating... something must change...

Nothing on the site itself has changed. Looking at what the above code does, it's kinda like tracking cookie from what I can see - so guinness know how many people have accessed the site. A bit like a hit counter? I guess it may have been there all along, *or* they want to monitor how many people are seeing the site "real time" and how often we come back to it and view each page, etc.

Not seen it on the other sites, although it's linked to these two lines of code that ARE present in the source code for the other sites in this hunt, ie:

Code:
   <script></script>

   <script></script>

Again, all ties in with the tracking, it's part of how they know if we're getting the sites in the right order.

At least, that's my best guess Smile And now I've bored you all to sleep with that pile of technobabble, I'm off to bed lol.

Wait
For the good thing..............

That is me done now!
I agree with most of the other guys/gals. It cant be THIS hard.
Waiting seems too easy, but the email DID say that Pedro Guzmam will be back in a few days. My guess is to check every 2 hours on the Guzmam web site as well as your email.
I feel we are trying too hard
Catch you all in a day or so Smile

OH yes I do!

in the http://www.lafuentedemusica.com/# site, the original source code had a list of songs that related in some way to sites we have visited.

In molindodefenix we read in the source about the scales as well as got a recipe for Alfajores - which gave us a clue to help solve the jukebox songs

Arpa de taller's source talks repeatedly about clean your car

http://www.arenasdetiempo.com/# tells us to judge a book by it's cover

http://www.dominodorado.com/ told us about the new layout of 4 rooms from 6 (matchstick puzzle)

So YES!!!! I do think that they expected people to look at the source

* a message to the guinness team *

Come on lads and lasses! give us a sign, let us know we are on the right track, we don't want the answers, just some encouragement!

considering that if you google anything from this game, this thread comes up & a few of the blogs have even referenced us I am sure that someone from the ad company is watching this thread
