The dates I mentioned for the Simpsons movie were general release dates but there are always preview showings and other "gala" premiere's so maybe it will actually have a global premiere in NYC the week before, then be rolled out around most of the world on 17/18 Jan. That would negate the whole 01-18-08 date thingy that started this whole show but who knows. Just another thing for us to debate about until January (like we needed another mystery).
It would really help now if we had a title for this movie so I could check with the major cinema chains about opening dates. I think I'd sound a little crazy ringing a theatre and asking them about a "realease date for an untitled movie....you know, the JJ Abrams's new movie project/Cloverfield/Slusho/Cheese/Monstrous/Overnight, you know the one?" Given the person on the other end most likely wouldn't know about it and could only search by a title.
Time will tell and I hope we get some firm dates soon.
Oh and a title really soon wouldn't hurt either!

I got the info (aus date) from, I think a google search of 18th January 2008, and then onthisday.com maybe? then I went to the previous day and the aus date was there, then I clicked on the movie and it showed global release dates

Vernon has left the website Vernon MacDooble's content on reviewsby.us has vanished.
His content on chowhound.com remains.

I'm sure legitimate restaurant review sites don't appreciate fake restaurant reviews.

Nedre Gokstadvei Who is this person? As the subject info states, who is this "Nedre Gokstadvei" that is apparently the proprietor of Garbanzos?
I googled the name and of the tons of things in Norwegian (and hence inscrutable to me) I found and managed to reasonably understand and otherwise translate a patent for a liquid crystal doping agent. I'd sure love to have someone that speaks Norwegian read a few of those results and give us an idea who this person is really supposed to be, and if they do in fact own a restaurant. The results do place this person in Sandefjord, the location given for Garbanzos.

Nedre Gokstadvei I'm swedish not norwegian, but our languages are very similar.
I would say it's a street/adress. "Nedre" means "Lower", "Stad" means "City/Town" and "Vei" means "Road/Street"...

just to echo what was just stated by willow online..
nedre gokstadvei is a street in sandefjord, norway
hopefully the below link to google maps works.. I have mapped the address there
link to map
edit to tiny url and embed link that was stretching the forums ~rose
edit: thanks to whoever "tiny url'd" my link.. I don't actually have any idea how to do that, so the page would've stayed wide until someone explained it

Why that place? in Norway? And a japanese restaurant with a spanish/mexican sounding name? Either they are hiding something or they were just drunk when they did it ^^

Heh, so it's the road and not a person.
That's a bit funny, seeing as Vernon refers to "Main Street" in a proper noun form, which there doesn't seem to be one in Sandefjord. I wonder what's really at the address posted in the article?
I've always thought this was a really odd setting for the restaurant, with the name and a Japanese chef. I think maybe someone was just having fun being odd when they decided to leave this clue for us.
Edit/Update:
That address shown seems to be for Polydisplay ASA, a company dealing in liquid crystal display technologies. They've got some really neat looking stuff for sure: http://www.polydisplay.no/
And a request: cmg could you tinyurl that link?
Edit the second:
Upon a little harder research into that Google map thumb on the Menuism info page for Garbanzos, that's the default 'pin' location for any address on Nedre Gokstadvei. The closest thing with an actual address to that default pin is... (this is going to excite some old speculators)
A business called Power Plant Norge DA.
