[META] IMDB POST REGARDING CHUAI AS THE TITLE Not confirmed, interesting backstory persperctive I saw my post has been put up on this board. I respect your comments and opinions. I have stated that this info is from a friend who works with many LA film studios.
We will see eventually whether this right or wrong.
I also saw a posting from Polar Bear about our conversation on ProjectCloverfield.com
There are a few people that get way to angry and insulting about 1-18-08 postings. I ended up on that site defending myself against three people who had no info to debunk my post. Your opinion is your opinion and leave it at that.
Don't argue about why you are "positive" someone's wrong.
Unless its lions, voltron, etc.... There is no proof to debunk theories or passed info. Im sure when the film comes out we will see tidbits of many theories posted from 1-18-08 related websites.
Until then, enjoy the posts or wait for the flic. Thats all I have
Thanks

Ummmm, nope Actually, yes, there IS very strong evidence that Chuai is not the title, as others on this board have pointed out. No movie by a major studio will open without having trademarked the name of the movie. There is no "Chuai" registered anywhere in the USPTO database, which you can search online. That's pretty solid evidence that you don't have the name right, whereas you are someone we don't know (and therefore have no trust in), and got the info secondhand from someone else we don't know whose claims are highly suspicious. Furthermore, I also doubt the legitimacy of your friend who claimed he wasn't under a gag order for this movie. Please, the guy who was taking out the trash on the movie set probably had to pledge his first born children if he leaked any info on this movie and I'm certain every technical employee did also. I'm not going to argue with you and this is the last I'm posting on this, but in conclusion: I think you (or your friend) are full of it.

Hi Superfuzzzz!
Welcome to Unfiction Forums!
I wanted to remind you of what Jarvis mentioned on projectcloverfield.com

No one has ever said we totally deny your point superfuzzz…we have all said "not likely" or "would be very stupid"…
We dont mean to bash, but much like people making up stories, people tend to dismiss theories on hear-say. Other people will believe you, and probably take your friend's word as gospel. I mean, people still believe its Rampage... some think its still Godzilla. The members of ProjectCloverfield.com and some members here don't believe its called "Chuai"...
in my opinion.... I call

In regards to the gag order and my source.
He is not directly affiliated with the production or sound team.
Your questions are valid and logical.
He has enough experience and connections in the business to at lease consider what he says.
He is not a fan of this movie and he has not been clue hunting at all.
So when he pulled the name Chuai, which is only listed on Tagruato, It seemed a strong possibility. He only knows Slusho! from the filming signs that were posted around the set in LA and thought that was a kids movie being made.
He knew about "Cloverfield" but did not make the connection to the Slusho! sets that it was the same movie.
Im trying to get him to post so I can stop explaining HIS information.
So until HE speaks, this topic is OOG!

why would they tell the sound guy the plot summary, even though its a short one? You may as well post his adress now.

our argument is not about whether or not your friend is a legit source, ok? we just stated that the title "Chuai" is not trademarked in any way which, from a logical point of view is very good evidence against such a possible name.
do you know how many people came on here before u and said they got some kind of info from someone? the only way "proving them wrong" is to put forward information like that.

I understand completely!
We've all been trolled and some of us have trolled out of boredom.
Personally, the name Chuai had an original and eerie feel to it when you think of it being related to the destruction of NYC etc.
With names like Ghamera and Sin being mentioned, Chaui seemed believable to me and kinda still does.
If Bad Robot wants to release the title without giving away much, doesn't that seem suitable?

Let us, for a moment, travel into the mind of the average American shmuck; take me, for example. If I were strolling to my local cinema and I saw an interesting poster, "Chuai" would not bee what I would want to see. If it indeed had said "Chuai", I would think, "What the hell? Why would I see a movie about Chai tea? Stupid." And walk away. This isn't an artsy, Japanese indie film, this is owned by a big-budget corporation. "Chuai" wouldn't net anyone's attention.

well it all depends. If i saw the poster for this movie that we have all seen andit said Chuai I would probably still be interested....all i would have to go on would be the picture though. SOL with its head ripped off and a big hole in the building. I'd think "oh monster movie" then i'd think...."the monster is named Chuai? that sucks" but it would stand out as that cool poster with the really wierd name

^But would you go to see it? Chuai is not even a name that stands out - it's bland, dull and uninspiring, and the studio doesn't want that - in fact, I don't think anyone wants that. What we want is eerie, promising and intriguing - Chuai just doesn't do it for me. Something like Cloverfield or Overnight would, but Chuai doesn't sound right, it doesn't feel right, it feels like some Chinese subtitled history epic.
