[QUESTION] Is the new trailer actually confirmed? Or just rumored? Everyone is talking about the new trailer like it's definitely going to be released before Beowulf, however I have only seen that it is rumored to be released then, much like it was rumored to be released before RE: Extinction. What makes everyone seem to believe so much that it will indeed be able to be seen on the 16th? I'm looking forward to it quite a bit and am literally counting down the days but I don't want to be disappointed if it turns out there is no new trailer. Has it actually been confirmed by someone working on the movie? Someone fill me in on what's going on.

No confirmation, just more idle talk. We had talked about a "second teaser", but that never came and we slowly slipped into the time frame that trailers are released for movies, so now we are hearing about a "full trailer." I am going to see Beowulf, even if it doesn't have the teaser/trailer.
The primary reason for my trip will be a cloverfield trailer, but I've decided not to kill myself if there isn't one. I had thought it might be a good marketing tool if I killed myself and said it was because of a lack of cloverfield info, and that JJ would probably release a trailer in my honor, but I wouldn't get to watch it... and he'd just end up getting a revival of press coverage and end up making more money. I'm not giving him the satisfaction...

It's just a rumor, but I think the logic behind thinking that it's w/ Bewoulf is based on the fact (1) there are only so many paramount movies being released between now and 1-18-08 and the trailer will probably precede one of them and (2) since 1-18-08 is a sci-fi/horror movie, they're going to put the trailer in front of a similar movie to catch the right audience. Since Beowulf (I presume) involves a monster of sorts & will get the fanboy audience with its video game looking animation, it seems to be a very likely candidate.
PS - LOL to above poster.

Of course it hasn't been confirmed by "someone working on the movie". Sheesh.
This time the news is coming from a credible source rather than anonymous internet goonery. Someone has actually been willing to put their name out there with a report, not to mention that all the pieces fit.

You just contradicted yourself there... you say it's not from someone working on the movie, but that it comes from a credible source. The source in this case can't be credible unless it is someone working on the movie or someone in relations with someone working on the movie, so who is the source exactly and what makes them credible?

well if pegasissy is talkin about what i think he's talking about....he means the guy on the IMDB forums. This guy gave out his name and such along with his little tidbitof info saying that since he isnt workin on the movie he isnt on a ND agreement. Not too many people would put there necks on the line and give their name out if they weren't really sure about what they were sayin and the reprocussions of it. As far as his credibility...that is questionable depending on who you talk to. he does sounds on movies. thats about all i can remember dont anyone quote me on that. lol
Or he could be talking about the movie critic that claimed to have seen a rough cut of a second preview and then proceeded to describe it in decent enough detail. Nothing really contridicted itself or anything so no reason to not believe him.
Since there is so much conjecture and nothing is confirmed everything has to be taken with a grain of salt

I think if the title isn't revealed before Beowulf that this movie is doomed. Does anyone else feel this way?

Since everyone on this thread seems to not know where the sense of confirmation came from, here's the link to the original post by Dr. Awkward.
The source is considered more credible than a post from an otherwise anonymous person, citing no source themselves. There is no source cited in that article however, and there is a notable error in the article that hints at the person's frame of reference (Odet Jasmin instead of Odette Yustman).
If you accept that site's article as reasonably credible, and add that to the plausibility of placing the trailer before Beowulf for other reasons discussed on this forum it constitutes a fairly solid confirmation.
