The problem with that is that when Saul finds out about the leak, he will hold JC directly responsible because we're linking directly to JC's "secure" drop point, originally intended for Saul.

Someone should ask JC about this--is he willing to allow the leak to concern the drop point and possibly directing the blame at him?

Or redirect them here. Or to some benign pain that goes no where that is alarmist in this reality. heh

MORE SPEC:

Saul is a plant. He's in on whatever is going to happen on Red Monday, and he's trying to hamper the investigation. He's hired this "kid hacker" JC in the hopes that he isn't as good as he says. Turns out that he is, and is better at finding information than Saul thought. Now he's trying to get JC off the scent.

I also have this suspicion.

Perhaps we should consolidate all suspicious discourse by Saul and present it to JC as a possibility. I'm not sure he's thought of this possibility (or at least he hasn't made his suspicions known).

If he didn't before, he does now. I'm in Skype with him, and just suggested it.

Damn Skype.

Why would he make us pay for a service in order to talk to him? Don't you think he could have used a free chat client?

Skype is free, unless you use the VOIP capability. I'm too cheap to actually pay for something like Skype.

What are you talking about? Skype is free as long as you just chat or talk with Skype users. If you want to call a land line or cell phone or send a message to a cell, you have to pay. But talking to JC is free.

I think now we're getting to the game's core. The PM is going to change things from the game to suit things to our expectations, yet surprising us. It'll be interesting, to say the least.

So, are we doing this leak or not? I liked the idea of the "who's the president" question. People in the alternative universe of JC and Saul would answer Kerry, so he should assume that people in his world will read what lies behind the question.

Chinese connection

Eschelon/3 mentioned CSS-2s in the intel assesment of the facility we found. Those are Chinese intermediate range ballistic missiles. Range of about 2500km, with poor accuracy (nuclear weapons don't really need to be that accurate).

http://www.fas.org/irp/threat/missile/saudi.htm

So the Chinese are supplying the Saudis with ballistic missiles.

I'm on Skype with JC. He says he's willing to risk in order to do the leak. But there are a couple of conditions we came up with during our conversation. We need everybody on the team to agree on the leak. And we should definitely NOT mentions words like "missiles", "nuclear" or "warhead". What we want to do is to warn the NCS of the fact that there is people out there who know stuff they shouldn't. We want them to react. AND avoiding people to panic.

We should come up with something clever... maybe... doing exactly we've been doing since we discovered red-monday.com: treat it as a game. Even if we state that it's a game (which is what the regular people will believe), the NCS from JC's reality would notice that we're including REAL stuff in the game and they won't be able to deny that we DO know something.

Yeah, I know, it's not THAT creative...but that's about everything I can come up with. What do you guys think?

I'm loving the fact that this game is dynamic. Reminds me of Lockjaw, when we actually filed a lawsuit against an ingame company on behalf of an ingame person.

edit --> what if we leak Saul a link to this forum? For example:

~~~~~~~
Saul,
You don't know me, but we have some common associates. I ran across this website one day and showed it to one of them. Seemed like a bit of a lark to me -- buncha computer nerds having fun playing some lame game. They were a bit concerned that your codename was being mentioned, and were worried that sensitive information was being leaked somehow.
I don't think that's exactly the way we should do it. We're trying to tell the whole NCS that we know some dangerous things. If we tell just Saul, he'll just beat the hell out of JC and we would have accomplishe dnothing. Additionally, we're trying to show we've got enough power to tell everyone about the situation, so this wouldn't be a threat to them.
EDIT: JC mentions that we should consider making the leak across more than one platform. He also suggests that if any of us has a link to some kind of media, we should use it to our advantage. In that case, we have to be extra careful.
Has anyone checked into JC's Skype avatar? It looks a little strange -- just the Skype logo with a LOT of noise. Makes me wonder if there's anything to it, but I don't have the Photoshop/image editing skills.
