ARGNet Article http://www.argn.com/archive/000665game_launch_silver_ladder.php
Ok, they wrote an article about Silverladder. From what I've heard in IRC, no-one was consulted about it.
Also, this article gives a completely wrong impression about Silverladder.
Did they talk to anyone?

I attempted to leave a comment on that article pointing out that they really didn't capture the correct feel and message of Silverladder, and leaving my email address and pointing out that any of us players could nudge people in the right direction.
I dunno if it's been accepted yet.

this article reminds me of trying to explain almost anything of any importance to anyone in 500 words or less...c'mon ARGNet, you're not writing a college admissions essay, you're supposed to be reporting on what's actually going on!

I don't know guys, it's pretty basic but I think they get the point. What did they miss?

that article was OK, though I agree that the correct feel for what SL really is was not captured. It was enough info to get some players interested possibly

I am just glad they posted an article. I sent them a message a few weeks ago asking them to do something since the rabbit hole was opening soon. I was never contacted though.

I think the article was good reporting - non-biased with information on who, what, where & when. With links to all the potential resources for new folks to jump into the game you guys have been immersed into for weeks.

I think the article was done very well. It serves its purpose perfectly. Advertising is advertising people.

Hi, guys! I wrote the article, and I did talk with people in the chat room. I spoke and emailed with kafkaguy, and I asked (or tried to ask) questions of a few of you folks. My goal was to give an overall picture of the game and how it led up to 11/11, and I'll be writing a follow-up this week. If there's information you think should be included, you can PM me - I don't promise to include what you send me, but I'll definitely give it a look.

well, it was a good article. enough information to bring in new people! I am thankful that there was at least an article written up also. I like the way you wrote it (the style was done perfect) I guess
those of us
(some of us) that have been into this might seem a little biased already. I re read and yes, it does come from an unbiased point of view and thats the way an article should be written. Sorry if I seemed, well, biased.

It was definitely unbiased - I haven't been following the game, but I found it intriguing enough to want to do the article. I almost *didn't* do it because there was so much information to sift through about the site's history, the initial pre-game launch, and everything in between.
It'll be interesting to see what happens from here on.

Why sorry? I'm a writer - I do not shrink in the face of criticism. I'll be hanging around, asking questions and stuff for the follow-up article, so PM me if there's anything you'd like to see. I'd love to know, as well, what you would have liked to have seen in this article that would have captured more of the "flavor" of SilverLadder - to know this will help me to better understand the game as you guys see it. Spill! Tell me!
I do have to point out that ARGN is more invested about the facts, rather than the feel, of the games that they report on, at least as far as I understand it. So we may not capture exactly the right feel of the game - but that's what the game itself is for, right?

It was a good article. ^-^ I just think Silverladder is a difficult thing to explain. No words can really capture it.
