Hey everyone, been lurking since the summer and finally decided to join in on the mayhem.

Dont get me wrong, i've been dying for the second trailer to come out, but there's something about this one that doesnt feel 'legit.' It's certainly put together in a decent enough way to look genuine, but it wouldnt surprise me if it is a fake trailer even put out by paramount itself.

The thing which really makes me suspicious is when we hear "Whatever is it, its winning." It sounds like its a cheap voiceover done by your average Joe. Personally, I just dont think it fits the bill.

Just my thoughts...

not to mention its a quote from transformers.

There's two places in the trailer where the monster(s) is for sure visible (although only in silouette):
0:43, one frame. It looks almost robotic.
0:35-0:37; most visible. It looks like the monster attacks some girl, impales her, and then fills her up with something (Slusho?)
There's also suposed red eyes, but I think thats lights from the helicopter.
Screen caps are done, i'm just putting the frames of the impaler together in PS. in the meantime, heres the first one

P.S. I just checked my photobucket, and my screencaps from J+T #3 were deleted cuz they "violated [their] terms of service." huh? copyrighted, maybe?

Think i may have found something that proves this is fake...

Check the thing below the screen, looks an awful lot like an LCD/Plasma TV stand to me...

And as i said in my previous post, the camera work is too steady throughout to have been filmed on a phone.

i've got a pretty good feeling thats it. but now that i think of it, i'll go ask him

I'm with brettoniasam on this one. I smell fake all over it like a plagarising skunk. I mean -
    The voice acting is nothing short of atrocious (it sounds like some football forward with brain damage is mumbling "Whatever it is, it's winning", and the "they're going to want to know how it all went down" sounds read);
    The shadow looks like a rancor's biting into someone;
    The headless Statue of Liberty is impressive (and the only thing that makes me think this may not actually be fake) but, as people have pointed out, can be done by someone with decent editing skills;
    It seems stupid that they would put the end scene (I'm assuming the helicopter scene is the end scene) in the trailer;
    It seems odd that the actual movie camera would be going crazy blurry during A PARTY SEQUENCE WHEN NOTHING IS HAPPENING, unless they wanted to hide the identity of the people involved so we can't tell who they are;
    It does look like a plasma-screen stand on the bottom of the screen (good spotting, .Adam, I thought it was just an empty theatre, which is still suspicious for a preview screening);
    There's that added fireball when SOL's head crashes down onto the street that looks superimposed;
    It all seems to fit too well together to be filmed in 20sec slots on a cellphone (check the first twenty seconds - there's a blackout at 0:10s with no sound - which, may I add, appears built into the trailer - and one at 0:14s with sound - SoL's head falling, but no jump/blackout until 0:24s, after SoL's head comes to a rest - I thought cellphones recorded in 20 second intervals...);
    Why would the guy recording waste his time on stuff we've already seen (ie SoL's head) and stuff we're supposed to already know about (the rancor shadow, the helicopter scene), when not recording the stuff we haven't seen/didn't know about?;
    The camera is too steady for a phone (once again, thanks to .Adam);
    And (I just noticed this) the neck is still on good ol' Liberty when they fly past, yet the neck's also on Liberty's head, and JJ ain't no sucka for continuity errors!

I'm calling fakitey-fake-fake until I see it for myself.

That is all.

that is not a tv stand. those are clearly theater seats if you look closely.

and that trailer looks way too professional to be fake. nobody would EVER want to make a fake trailer that professional.

and there are such things as arm rests. rest your elbow and you will see that your hand barely moves.

Sure they would. Some people in the world are jerks. I mean, someone built a legit-looking movie site to promote they're stupid fanfic, why wouldn't someone else construct a trailer for a hotly anticipated movie people know next to nil about?

I'm calling shenanigans until someone like Apple puts a non-choppified version up, assuming there is one. :/

plus it is pretty easy to keep your hand steady if you are sitting down. pretend that you are holding a cellphone and recording a trailer and you will see.

I didn't think anyone would spend $99 to gamejack boldfutura.jp, but it looks like they did.

that trailer is REALLY professional (i'm an editor and effects compositor) AND its got shots of the actors and stuff that hasn't been put out.

That's the thing though. No where in the "new trailer" is there a full facial shot of an actor. All the shots are of partial faces or from behind.

Also the splits in the 3 files are at convenient places. Take the first split for example, right at the end of the re-cap of the first trailer. That's good timing hey? Wink

well the horse and buggey i can attest to.

and what about this shot of rob ?

also the trailer is such low quality that there could be shots with them but they're just too fast for us to catch. we wont know until we have a better version

Hmm, I'm still not convinced. It doesn't look exactly like him. Could be anyone really.

When I first saw that picture of 'Rob' on the trailer, I thought the guy was Asian. Serious.
