ok, i had to force my way thru this thread to read all the posts i could handle...please people, be reasonable sometime...

we all know a trailer is usually longer then a teaser, but when you see a 1 minute clip of the trailer most cry fake cause it wasn't the full thing, as pointed out you can plainly tell it was on a cellphone, thats also why theres no bad robot or robs face, cause they either had to get their phone out real fast and missed it, or wait for it to save and reload, as pointed out in an earlier post

and the people crying fake over different actors...please..the quality is soo bad you could of gotten one of them horses to run along side the actors running and you'd think it was another human, and the afroman who brings rob in this time, its from the bad quality aswell, its from a mixture of bad quality and fast forwarding the camera, the imaging is mixing, aslo with bad quality you can barely make out anything in the opening sentences

and the arm losing its sleeve for a bracelet...the pics you provided aloow for some leeway as you can claim the "sleeve" was just a close up of the bracelet and so when they zoomed out in the new one while it was fast-forwarding it looked different

theres more simple thinkings to go along with this, but thos are the main ones i seen so far

btw, i think the horses, depending on when they are in the movie, may symbolize that the monsters are only going for human life and not animals

again, you could be right, but its such low quality that we'll just have to wait and see. but, sources say, that is the trailer, firstshowing.net chud.com the guy who ran the reels.

Yeah, I'm not denying it could be real, It probably is. But there are just a few strange things that have been noticed that have got me wondering. That's all.

There's never been any harm in discussion. Smile

Hmmm, doesnt look like that scary of an "impaler monster" looks more like a guy in a bio suit. Any chance that the shots of the guys with the army suits were from on set movies floating around the net, cause it sounds like the audio was all dubbed.

I still wouldnt call this a trailer so much, more of a second teaser. I dont know why, just my opinion. There is nothing in it really that wouldnt be too hard to fake.

The thing that bugs me about the horse scene is that they look like they are in the city, where a monster is/was wreaking havoc. Yet, there is no destruction or dust or smoke anywhere. Think about it, buildings are seen getting demolished, and I hate to use it as a source of comparison, but remember the World Trade Center coming down, the dust and debris covered all of Manhattan. Also, it seems pretty quiet considering the army is supposedly opening a can of whoop ass on the monster(s).

I am really hoping this isnt the real trailer, because from what I saw on the very very steady phone camera work, it doesnt seem that impressive. I am just waiting to see it for myself/waiting for an HD trailer online to really make impressions on it.

So, if we go by the impaler photos, our monster is either a fireman and an army man with a Halo 2 Battle Rifle, or this -

SOMEBODY FIND LUKE SKYWALKER!!

to people complaining about the party scenes not matching up
wasnt the first party scene just like selections of video and not the whole thing?
so it could be that those scenes that "dont fit" are just scenes that happened when ever the camera cut off

im saying this is real since my firend(his name is Jer!), who is the projectionist at the local theatre, told me that he saw the trailer

A brief statement on the "horse not being spooked" thing.

You are in ny city. Horns blare, cars backfire, people scream and run, and even the occasional discharging of a firearm. This horse is well trained not to spook. thats it. My sister has ridden(or should it be "has rode") horses her whole life, and she has had some pretty stupid smart horses that NEVER spook at anything.

If you dont feel like reading the above, the whole "horse not running" theory is off base.

It's all very well and good having friends who are projectionists, but I'm still skeptical. My problem with the party scene is that the camera in it is far too erratic and blurry and crazy and jerky and badly-coloured - which is a major direct contrast to the style of the party shots in the teaser.

And no, you can't use the 'cellphone video' excuse for this one - I notice that the borders of the screen stay still throughout this part - too still for a cellphone video.

As for the horses - the horses not running excuse explanation sounds pretty reasonable. But how about the severe lack of debris or even lack of anything that suggests a big-ass monster just tore through the city, or at least dead bodies of people attacked by the smaller monsters (which there would have to be - either or - because of the horses just trotting along).

I dont think the horse would be spooked necessarily, its just really, well, Quiet. It doesnt seem like a city that just got nailed by grumpypants. Based on all the on set photos and the pictures from 1-18-08.com, there was debris and dust everywhere, also, I would assume since the city was getting destroyed, there would be one massive traffic jam, and abandoned cars everwhere. In the trailer, there is nothing to be seen, and no paniced people running around.

The impaler images looks like it's being filmed through plastic. Like the impaler is in a hazmat suit and the screaming woman is in a plastic enclosed room.

As an owner of an ex-police horse; trust me; some of them are bomb-proof.

OCCAM'S RAZOR
"All other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best."

What is the simplest solution here...someone deciding to create, film, edit, mix an elaborate "fake" trailer and then to add the feel of it being recorded in a movie theater and post it online for all to see?

Or was it some guy who works at a theater knowing that the actual trailer is attached to Beowulf and got lucky enough to see the real deal and decided to whip out his cell and record a very low quality version.

All things being equal, I'll go with the latter...the trailer has to be real.

Also, I think I'll just point out, the legitimacy of the guy who posted the video up is...well, pretty much nonexistent. This is a guy with three subscribers who brought us Brutal Barney (or so his profile says). I'm seriously doubty about whether it is legit, one of the reasons being the guy who apparently 'caught' it - Mr. molesteddigested.

Ok, am I the only one who noticed that the scene with the SoL head landing looked a LOT more detailed? When the head rolls over, it looks as though the CGI work had been improved. Hard to say, but can someone grab comparison screens?

Im calling it a well done fake, Ever consider why it was taken on a cellphone? not becuase he did'nt bring a decent camera but becuase he relized that if he posted the video with any decent resolution we would see right through it, by doing it this way its much eaiser to not see obvius flaws.
