 		First things first:
Oh. My. Gawd. This movie is going to be great. Still not so sure about the acting quality, but I can look past that if the story is as good as it appears.

Next, some things I've noticed (using spoilers in case anyone minds):
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the "impaling scene", I'm almost certain that's a monster doing the attack, not a guy in a hazmat suit. If you listen, you hear an almost..grunting sound.

The one scene where they're in what looks like a store, and then there's the roar, and what looks like water floods in through the broken windows puzzles me. I can't yet come up with a theory to explain that...

From the greater amount of dialog we've gotten, it seems that Rob does not know more than anyone else. Indeed, he seems quite confused.

The view of the SoL appears to show it missing the torch too, but that could just be the lighting and poor contrast on my monitor.

I'd say it's almost certain that Hud dies, which is kinda fail to know this soon, but you can clearly hear Rob yell "Hud" when it shows the camera on the ground with the shoe, so...I think it's a pretty good assumption that he bites it.

There are quite a few points where I would bet money you could get a decent view of the monster, at least enough to begin extrapolating it's appearance, but I can't do a damn thing with that, not with my monitor's terrible contrast and my utter lack of skill when it comes to taking screen caps of videos.

That's all that comes to mind currently, I'll post again after watching it a few more times.

God, feels good to get some concrete info (for those of you wondering, I've been basically lurking here for a while. I haven't had much to contribute, so I've just been chilling. This place is great.)

Heh. Might just be fan service, but in the scene with the water blowing out the windows, someone again tells Rob "I saw it, it's alive, it's huge". Odd.

 		the first thing i notice right off the bat is that ...

the party scene shows a part that wasnt in the teaser trailer... it almost looks like its from another angle... i agree with everything from the above poster... except i dont think water comes through the exploding glass.. i think its something else... it didnt look like it when i saw it live

This really sounds like a government thing here.

I really get into it on the next page i believe. This is what i think

Multiple sighting of cloverfield = multiple CIVILIAN SIGHTINGS of Project cloverfield

Incident site US 447 is totally military in nature.
Remember when we all wondered how the military would've gotten there so quickly based off of the picture on 1-18-08.com? Its cause it was known.

Teddy and jamie have SOMETHING to do with this. In the thread i posted the link for above i talk about a possible experiment that Teddy is involved in and using Jamie as test subject. We must remember the present that can't be opened till december. Thats gonna (hopefully) be the definitive proof on my theory.

there is alot of government/military involved in this trailer and i don't think its because a monster "just appeared" and they responded. I feel that Cloverfield is a goverment project gone awry. Like it says, He's recording to let the world know HOW IT WENT DOWN. wouldn't the government do that? When someone talks about How it went down, they are talking about the "true" version of an incident vs what is told by powers that be.

 		That's an interesting take on things Ryomi. And it can tie in to my post in this thread. Which raises the question of the U.S. designation...could it be that Tagruato is a cover for a government project of some sort?

 		Maybe the small monster shadow we see isn't a monster, but an infected person that turns into a small monster kind of like in the movie "slither". The main monster is the carrier of the new virus.

 		At the 1:02 mark, by pausing carefully, there is a superbrief red/magenta flash that is rather... weirdy-outy. I have no speculation there. Anyone else able to narrow it out?

It is visible again one second later, and it is during the part where 'the impalation' happens.


1:33 also has a red 'dot' in the background - you definitely see something back there.

Approximately 54 seconds in, there's an exchange between a military dude and an unidentified female.
"Get out of my way -" (female)
"There's nothing you can do for him" (military dude)
At the time, they appear to be in a makeshift hospital. Possibly further evidence of the virus/many monster theory...

Also, a theory on the store scene: If you look, whatever it is that pours through the windows after they break appears to be outside them before they do, if it was water breaking them, you would expect that it rushed past right as the windows shattering (since it would most likely be the cause of them shattering). It's possible it's a sort of vapor given off by the monster which causes the mutation (assuming that's true) and the roar of the monster is actually what shatters the glass. Just some spec.

 		When you first see the 'impaling' scene, anyone else think the thing might be holding onto a marine? It kinda looks like it just swipes off its head, which looks like a helmet of sorts...
