or maybe tagorto corp(i dont know the spelling) knew about it called the government to let them know
they tried to stop it in the ocean and failed so they had the military ready just in case it got to the city
and it did so they were ready

AND of course they wouldnt tell the public in hopeing they would stop it in the ocean

The GOV obviously knew it was coming... hell, we couldnt respond that quickly to a hurricane we knew of a week in advance...

but they had tanks and sh~t!
make-shift Hospitals, command centers, and it JUST attacked?

because it says somewhere in the trailer that its 7 hours later which makes it what time?

and how do we know its a make shift hospital? maybe they went to a hospital to find help for someone and it was hectic with injured, infected and dying people

we know from the time/date stamp on the pics at 1-18-08.com that the party is all good and well at 12:01 but then it all goes to hell by the next picture at 12:36. Anyone else find it odd that it happened right at midnight?

We aren't sure exactly when the party started, but the attach occurred sometime between 12:04 (smiling Jamie,Hud,Rob photo) and 12:36 (scared girls looking upward photo). So seven hours later is going to make it roughly 7:30 AM. This jives with the weak daylight visible in the helicopter "crash" scene. Perhaps Rob and Beth survive the hard landing and make their way to Central Park for the final scene under the bridge.

that is pretty fast
govt had to know i still dont think its their fault
someone else created the monster and they knew some how what time and where it would show up

...dude it's NYC not New Orleans. the government would have a strong, fast reaction. besides that this is an alien/monster attack, not a force of nature. the army reaction time thing really doesn't pan out for me.

i think it has something to do with the tagruato corp obviously, but it's probably just a side effect of the drilling. if it is a government thing-- and it could be-- i don't think there's really anything to be said for the army being there to hold it back. atleast not based on the trailer.

It's called the National Guard Armory and I'll bet there are quite a few in NY state and surrounding areas. Not to mention US Army and Air Force and Navy bases all along the Eastern seaboard.

Initially, help for Katrina was delayed due to weather. They could not get there during the storm itself. Afterwards was a matter of FEMA mess and kno one knew who was really in charge.

If the US is under attack, military response protocols for defense and triage (field hospitals) are well in place. IRL military field hospitals are able to be in place in 24 hrs. Initial medical treatment will occur at local facilities. This is a movie, so the script is going to take some liberties. As a medical member of the USAFR, I'm okay with that.

but c'mon... a full out artillery attack with tanks and a small army of guys running? Its still night, so you assume its before 8am not long after the initial strike...
