The LAM stuff has come up before, so a gentle reminder to check back on the thread before posting... (Better to mention it now than later, I think.)

I second this, and for those who missed it this first time, this report (linked earlier by Argaholic) is awesome and has been right on the money so far: http://www.boudillion.com/lam/lam.htm

And this one (linked by Scribe, I believe) on Jack Parsons:
http://www.rotten.com/library/bio/mad-science/jack-parsons/ along with the Wiki page on him are quite useful.

EDIT:

Is it an occult thing or an alien thing?
or both, cos im not really sure where we are now!

It's both. See Argaholic's LAM link above.

Just read back through the LAM link, and it does seem to be spot on. I think instead of summoning a homuncolous, Jack opened the portal from yuggoth and got LAM instead

Hex Correction

Looks like Smithy is now being visited my Men in Black. Let's see if we can't crack this hex and give him a bit of help.

(First rule of Cthulhu Club: Run. Second rule of Cthulhu Club: Keep running. Questions are for the dead and chewed-up...)

Update: Thought there was some repetition in the hex, but it looks like the hex that Petunia posted back here are slightly wrong - sorry petunia... The correct string is as below (broken up by the asterisks):

Quote:

3F-04-14-33-*
43-96-00-1A-17-*
57-2E-0C-00-04-*
43-7A-0B-14-54-*
57-23-14-2E-56-*
43-6F-28-28-3C-*
57-13-01-2F-10-*
43-61-10-02-12-*
57-11-15-17-14-*
43-5D-0D-24-43-*
57-0A-1B-2E-3A-*
43-54-2A-0B-28-*
57-13-08-37-5B-*
53-44-29-25-3A-*
57-18-2B-0C-47-*
53-44-20-03-56-*
57-20-27-04-5B-*
53-46-00-15-62-*
57

Interestingly, they all start with 43, 53 or 57, in a generally alternating pattern. This reminds me a bit of Rogi's previous post about Jon's first number strings, which used numbers (possibly) starting with 29 and 35 (but less alternating).

Useful to anyone? Smile

Lastly (sorry about the huge post), I got a reply from smithy after filling him on the LAM stuff and "Due SSE". As if you didn't have enough to read Wink :

Quote:
1. Yeah, I kind of figured out DUESSE was "Due SSE". Problem is, I can't just walk or drive in a SSE direction without having a destination. Walker AFB is actually due SSE of the Peak - that can't be a coincidence. However, I don't think it's a destination.

2. Between "LAM" and "aliens" and "yuggoth" (and don't think I'm not aware of Lovecraft - I know for a FACT that everything he wrote was from experience. Don't ask me how I know - I just do) I think I'm getting into serious trouble.

3. I think the hexes are hiding something vital. I'm starting to think our "Jon Jones" isn't trying to warn me - I think he's trying to protect me. If so, I don't know why. This person seems to have no motivation to help me.

4. Again, creepy. And creepy stuff makes me nervous.

Quite.

I converted the hex to dec:

63 4 20 51 *67
150 0 26 23 *87
46 12 0 4 *67
122 11 20 84 *87
35 20 46 86 *67
111 40 40 60 *87
19 1 47 16 *67
97 16 2 18 *87
17 21 23 20 *67
93 13 36 67 *87
10 27 46 58 *67
84 42 11 40 87
19 8 55 91 *83
68 41 37 58 87
24 43 12 71 *83
68 32 3 83 *87
32 39 4 91 *83
70 0 21 98 *87

Note the missing asterisks in the 12th & 14th rows (not sure if it means anything though). Not sure what to do with it from here, but I have a hunch it may just end up saying "zeroth law".

EDIT: D'oh! Sorry scribe, I didn't see your post. Thanks for double checking me - hopefully it's correct now. I'd check it again but I'm starving, must find food!! Laughing

Zeroth Law
Giskard, are you ready for your closeup? :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laws_of_Robotics

It could also refer to the 0th law of thermodynamics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeroth_law which seems much less interesting.

So, who thinks Jones is a robot?!

After the decimal conversion, those look suspiciously like coordinates.

And the 3rd one looks like it's in the Flagstaff area.

In http://maps.google.com/ usable format, they are:
Code:
63° 4′ 20.51″ N, 150° 0′ 26.23″ W   (Denali Park, Alaska)
46° 12′ 0.4″ N, 122° 11′ 20.84″ W   (Mount St. Helens, Washington)
35° 20′ 46.86″ N, 111° 40′ 40.60″ W (Just north of Flagstaff)
19° 1′ 47.16″ N, 97° 16′ 2.18″ W    (Yucatán)
17° 21′ 23.20″ N, 93° 13′ 36.67″ W  (Southern Mexico)
10° 27′ 46.58″ N, 84° 42′ 11.40″ W  (Costa Rica)
19° 8′ 55.91″ S, 68° 41′ 37.58″ W   (Bolivia/Chile border)
24° 43′ 12.71″ S, 68° 32′ 3.83″ W   (Bolivia/Chile border)
32° 39′ 4.91″ S, 70° 0′ 21.98″ W    (Argentina)

Or... I could be all wrong.

You might have something there - during the "UFO summer" of 1952, it looks like many of those locations were alleged sighting spots. Alaska and Washington for sure, and Argentine/Boliva perhaps....

Or we could both be grasping at straws. Smile

Most of the locations seem to be at or very near volcanic sites.

Jon Jones just sent out a link to this, with the subject "Reuters [REDIRECT]: Evidence": http://www.reuters.com/article/oddlyEnoughNews/idUSKUA44543520070424

Intro text...
Quote:
Mystery fossil turns out to be giant fungus

Scientists have identified the Godzilla of fungi, a giant, prehistoric fossil that has evaded classification for more than a century ...

A chemical analysis has shown that the 20-foot-tall (6-metre) organism with a tree-like trunk was a fungus that became extinct more than 350 million years ago ...

Known as Prototaxites, the giant fungus originally was thought to be a conifer. Then some believed it was a lichen, or various types of algae. Some suspected it was a fungus.

I havent been following (lurking) this one too much but i think there were some pics of smithy's that were written on some parchment like paper...(maybe I'm mistaken) but anyways, the secret society trail kinda died, but here's what it's all about:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21958

I left the following comment for Smith at his filckr site. http://www.flickr.com/photos/19937708@N03/

Quote:
A friend of mine figured out that the corrupted message from Jones is actually a bunch of coordinates. And as you already know, Humphrey's Peak , the highest point in the state of Arizona, is at 35° 20′ 46.86″ N, 111° 40′ 40.60″ W. The rest of them are at the locations listed below. I believe Pico de Orizaba is where you want to go next.

South of Humphrey's Peak is:

19° 1′ 47.16″ N, 97° 16′ 2.18″ W would take you to Pico de Orizaba, the highest mountain in Mexico. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pico_de_Orizaba

17° 21′ 23.20″ N, 93° 13′ 36.67″ W is El Chichón an active volcano in northwestern Chiapas, Mexico. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Chich%C3%B3n

10° 27′ 46.58″ N, 84° 42′ 11.40″ W is the Arenal Volcano north-western Costa Rica. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arenal_Volcano

19° 8′ 55.91″ S, 68° 41′ 37.58″ W is Cabaray is a stratovolcano in Bolivia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabaray

24° 43′ 12.71″ S, 68° 32′ 3.83″ W is Llullaillaco is a stratovolcano at the border of Argentina (province of Salta) and Chile. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Llullaillaco

32° 39′ 4.91″ S, 70° 0′ 21.98″ W is Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Americas. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aconcagua

North of Humphrey's Peak is:

46° 12′ 0.4″ N, 122° 11′ 20.84″ W is Mount St. Helens an active stratovolcano in Skamania County, Washington. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_St._Helens

63° 4′ 20.51″ N, 150° 0′ 26.23″ W is Mount McKinley or Denali in Alaska, the highest mountain peak in North America en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_McKinley

Looks like our man is off to Mexico - guess we'll have to wait to see what happens. Can anyone pull anything out of the two new photos he posted? I tried messing about with the picture of Uriah with a woman, but couldn't figure anything out....

the only thing I got from the postcard was to let us know where he was. The picture of Uriah, I don't know unless it's to show what he looks like and that he was still alive in 1956.

latest from Smith. I hope i didn't mess things up by posting the comment there. he told me it was easier to contact him by email smithy111110[@]yahoo.com

Tlachichuca here I come

1970? That would mean he's 105 years old in this pic. How come every picture we see of any man over 100, they're smoking big, fat stogies?

More Background

The "classified document" refers to a UFO incident at an air force base in the UK - not only was it seen by many ground crew, but it was caught on radar AND they sent a fighter to intercept it.

http://www.ufocasebook.com/bentwaters1956.html

It looks like the document should say "woodridge" as that was the site (along with bentwater) of the sightings.
