[SPEC] The Monster's Roar What if the roar is actually a mating call?
Edit: Hey, here's a new idea! What if you tag your posts ? -SpaceBass

and the destruction in the city is the monster's quest to find a mate?
A love story masked by a thriller, or the other way around.

Er.. are you suggesting that he ripped off the SoL's head because when he was hitting on her, she was ignoring him? And the rampage is a direct result of being spurned?

No, no, no, you've got it all wrong. He ripped off SoL's head as a gift. Everybody knows a guy offering the head of a national landmark to his favourite intended is completely jelly-knee-irresistable.

In the end, the monster finds its true love, and then they go back to their happy home underwater and have cute little babies.
The sequel will be a kid movie.

Maybe he was trying to "make it" with her and she wasn't as sturdy as msot of his other girlfriends.

...or maybe the monster is female and it rips her mate's head off after she has her way with him like a spider or a praying mantis.

SoL stole Mr Crabby's wife, so he got revenge by ripping off his head, destroying a city and killing hundreds of people. And Mr and Mrs Crabby lived happily ever after

The monster mistakes the SOL as a female monster. So, it tries to talk to it, but when it sees that it is not a monster, it rips the SOL's head off in anger.

jamie It is a mating call, and Jamie is answering it

His head? The SoL is a guy now?

The roar definitely starts with an inhalation [Meta?] Audacity When that roar was first available I played with it in Audacity, I don't think I had to slow it down, but it definitely starts an inhalation ( possibly just a Foley guy's ) and then gets all teched out.

Okay, so weve been talking about the roar on here since the 1st trailer appeared way back when.... My little dude, just said today (as he's now interested in this too) that the blue whale's "roar" can be heard for up to a 100 miles! this ties in with all the slusho whale references, and again the whale to the tardigrades (water bears), the briefest glimpses of grumpypants weve seen leaves it wide open for debate as to its a this or that! but the waterbear theory for me is still the most intriguing and leaves TONS of scope for what he looks like! any how I hadnt seen the whale referenced in any other way that linked so well! IMHO!

If this air breather is also a quadruped and it comes from the ocean (all things based on evidence we have), my proto-whale living fossil based monster suspicions could pan out...
But then, how does it 'infect' people with some apparent parasite that makes people basically explode?
