If you're able to get a photo of it then that would be greatly appreciated, it's just to be safe than sorry as a clever joke played on us had someone saying they saw a poster outside of their local cinema.

isnt it interesting that the "official" posters look almost exactly like the fake ones? apart from the actual title of course.... all the overnight, slusho and what have you had the same distorted writing + font face.

Just like the official Monstrous and Furious posters.

We got the posters in on Thursday at the theater where I work.
One of the managers let me take one home. We aren't really supposed to take them until after the movie leaves the theater, but I begged and it's now in my room.

It's also at the AMC (I think?) Georgetown theatre in DC (on K Street).

Wow. Illegal.
If I could get the other poster I would just give it away. Selling them is not a good thing to do. Especially if you get caught.

I'd say dairyking08 is probably right about those eBay sales being illegal. The promotional materials the studios send out are supposed to be for theater use only at least until they are released through retail sale and/or retired from display. Even if they are retired, they usually want them destroyed. I used to work at a 'big box' retailer and their backlit transparencies for the DVD releases were originally sold in a silent auction for charity - until the regional entertainment executive in the company said they couldn't do that and that they were supposed to be destroyed and disposed of. I guess some places are even told to return them. I always said it as a sad waste of perfectly good $25-75 high quality print transparencies.
I'm not going to be 100% sold on Cloverfield being the title until Paramount lists it as such on their site, or on say the Apple trailer site. After the 'monstrous' debacle, it's entirely possible JJ is still jerking us around.

I admire your skepticism.
But, I think JJ had his shot at "jerking us around" with the first trailer. IMO, I don't think you get to release a second trailer, with a title, and then change it again.
Hopefully, we'll have a update to Paramount / Apple on Monday!

Could it be that the marketing for the movie is still being directed towards the ARG/ARE players? I honestly couldn't see the studio actually releasing the trailer ahead of a film so hyped as Beowulf, and not show the true name of the film. With that huge a release, it would be sort of counterproductive to mislead casual, first time filmgoers. I guess i just answered my own question. This close to the release, they'd have to have their act together to start gathering momentum, so the name is 99.9% legit, otherwise, they just swerved about a million people.
