[SPEC] Whats Alive? is the question we should be asking. we should focus on this... Whats Alive? is the question we should be asking.
Obviously jj wants us to know "its ali..(ve?)(on?)"
because its in both trailers, its a repeating clue . why would he keep showing us that? why on both trailers they make it a point for us to hear that?
Hhmmmmm

I highly doubt we'll get any solid clues or hints as to what the creature is. I personally don't want to know until I see the movie, it'd ruin it for me.

I agree with this train of thought. Since the first trailer I've been trying to solve this puzzle...Its Alive...This has to mean that everyone is familiar with the monsters appearance, and they are shocked that it was once not alive and now is...A national monument maybe. Could the statue of liberty be a hint towards what the monster is?
Hopefully I can help bring new thoughts to everyone and move on to the next step...

i guess just enough to keep our attention. honestly i think well be chasing our tails until 1-18-08. Thats what i would do if i was the producer, it would go down in history as the greatest suspense build up ever.

Okay, let's look at it this way - if you saw a giant lizard thing that looks like it belongs in a Macy's parade or a horror convention, and then you saw it throwing oil tankers and statue heads and stuff, wouldn't your first exclamation be "Holy crap, it's ALIVE!?!", followed closely by "RUN!!"? I have a feeling "it's alive" is just a base human reaction - you know, prone to stating the obvious as we all are.

also for the general public whom may have only seen the two trailers it could seem like some sort of terrorist type attack rather than a monster attack

Let's keep in mind here the in-game cast don't know about our prophesying trailers, and we won't tell them about them on the basis of entertainment.

Gee, those Terrorists sure do have a distinct Roar...
I really dont think there is a reason to look for specifically what the monster is or looks like until we see the movie. I think maybe finding where it came from, THATS the important part.

Wouldn't surprise me if Slusho was in NYC that day celebrating the product's arrival in America. If we're going with the statue idea, then I'd be willing to bet they bring along some sort of statue with them as part of the presentation which could be why Rob has this guilty look on his face in the first trailer. Naturally he'd be at the presentation since he's about to work for them, right? But because the idea of a statue coming to life seems incredibly corny and disappointing to me, the swerve there would be that the statue wasn't a statue at all. Maybe it's not even introduced as such. Maybe they've displayed their mysterious "deep sea ingredients" and a batch of them become contaminated, which would explain the monster, the smaller monsters (if there are any; don't hold your breath), etc.
Going with that theory, it wouldn't surprise me if the mysterious "We're coming!" page on Slusho.jp suddenly announces plans for the presentation in NYC on 1/18/08.

What if it's not that it's amazing that the monster is alive, but that the monster is still alive?
Imagine this: Monster shows up, army knows so they're waiting, they blow him with a huge weapon causing the explotion. And out of the fire the thing comes walking and punches the SOL. People could say "It's alive!! even after they blow it!"
Or maybe after the explotion the monster seemed dead. It stopped and fell. Then it got up again, undead style. "It's alive!"

It sounds probable, but then how can we account for the "It's alive!" in the first trailer which takes place presumably as the monster is first arriving to wreak havoc?

It's alive? Maybe the Flavor Bots, or an incarnation of them?

I think this idea is heading in the right direction. Its easily shot down, cause the details just aren't correct, but it would certainly credit the "its alive" lines used so often. The statue of liberty was a gift from the French, could it be a gift from our Asian company? The statue of liberty could have a double meaning. Not only to symbolize the destruction of NYC but something else...I like where this is heading...
Now do what you do best in this forum and burn it down...I especially like getting burned by all the genius newbies...

lol. It could be a symbolic movie. I was watching a show one time, and I heard that Osama Bin Laden means lion (for all of you who still think the monster's a lion). One of my first thoughts when I watched this trailer was, "Wow, this could possibly be a terrorist movie." If it is, I just hope it isn't like all those boring, political movies. I'm sick and tired of those. I just want a good monster movie.

It is funny you should mention this. I posted this last night:
Lurker here. I have had a theory knocking around for a while. With the newest pictures and fragments seen, I have to ask this one. Do you think it came out of the SoL? It kind of looks like the SoL walking around. It carried the Head of the SoL through the city for a minute. Everyone is saying "IT is Alive" like they cannot believe that it is alive. Maybe something activated a monster coming out of the statue? (long strech) Or maybe what ever it is took the form of the first thing it saw (the SoL)? From some of the earlier clues and now the recent 'monster captures' I thought I would 'put it out there'!
