Intro

Hello All. Even though I knew that the game might be over in another 10 days, I still spent the last three days reading the last 61 pages of posts because it was interesting. So I'm going to jump in 'cause it looks killer fun.

The neat thing is that reading your last 61 pages of posts, compressed, was kind of like reading an international mystery novel that wasn't finished being written yet. That was pretty cool.

Anywho, I'm caught up on everything so hopefully I should be trout-free Trout

Go ahead and add me to your list of team members. Here are my specs:

Alias: Cody
Name: Brian Keller
Email: BrianKeller2007SPLATyahoo.com
Qualifications:

Foreign Policy: MODERATE
CounterTerrorism: MODERATE
Strategic Planning: MODERATE
SIGINT: LIGHT

Here's my first input…
I was thinking about the color codes on the city list. There are 5 colors shown. There are also 5 notes on a musical clef. Treble Clefs have E,G,B,D,F (Note: I'm not talking about the notes that are in the spaces, F,A,C,E, only the lines.) Bass Clefs have G,B,D,F,A. What if the color code corresponded to a musical note? What if the series of notes unlocked something? Go old school and think Close Encounters. Or perhaps, more diabolically, the notes then correspond to a frequency which has a numerical value, which may then be decoded and broken out into plaintext. I haven't tried any of this yet, I'm just thinking out loud.

Happy to have you aboard, Cody!

Don't have much in the way of progress, just to add more to the mix: the whole Kerry being president thing is interesting. Is there some reason for it? Was it entirely just an interesting bit of trivia, or something that has some bearing on how we should be approaching it?

The PM may have chose to make Kerry the president because everyone was complaining that this game was too "real." So far I don't think Kerry being president has actually affected anything, other than easing complaints.

I mean, we're already playing in an "alternate reality." It is an alternate reality game, after all.

Well, I checked out a few and I really like the plot line for Red Monday. I am different in the sense that I like the true-to-life characters, corporations, and locations. It adds something to the game.

Soldier 712A12 looks pretty good too. I don't think it has officially started yet even though the rabbit hole is out there. I emailed the contact basically saying I'm in and what's next (in game style) and the contact replied back saying, "Soon, Cody." So I will probably continue playing that after Red Monday is solved.

Hmph. No updates or clues, eh?

We got anything left to throw at that color-code?

EDIT: Also, this was my 42nd post. I approve.

Read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It'll change your life.

And I gave up on that color code days ago. I've got nothing.

EDIT: I also doubt the colors have anything to do with music. Occam's Razor - The code is going to directly correspond with something. The fact that only the primary colors appear in the first row is important, and so is the fact that orange doesn't appear in the second. But after this, I've gotten nowhere.

New E-mail to the Knights:

Quote:
After wracking my brain on this for a bit... I'm not sure if I'm any closer.
But I do have some thoughts... let me know if you agree or disagree.

1. The nuclear arsenal of Pakistan is just too small to carry out something
as wide-reaching as the plot of Jericho... as freaky as it is, I doubt that
the Pakis would be delivering the Saudi's more than a handful of nuclear
weapons... maybe even just 1. The weapons are just too bulky, costly, and
hard to move. And the more bombs there are.. the more the chance that it
would alert the authorities...

To that point, I really think that the color codes are some kind of ranking
mechanism... a way to narrow down a list of targets. One thing that I found
interesting linked to Salsaman's observation of the repeating pattern in
Column B... Blue Green Blue Purple. Since the cities are organized
alphabetically... if the colors contained any useful information, why would
they form a pattern? Someone suggested maybe the cities should be grouped by
color in the second column... I dont know. Ideas?

2. Also notable are the cities that break the pattern...3 are in California
and 4 of them are near large bodies of water. Could this maybe say something
about the method of delivery?

3. The 4 cities in column B which have colors OTHER than BGBP are also Blue
in Column A. That suggests something about the significance of the color
blue... at least in column 1.

Let me know if you think of anything. Going to be contacting Saul shortly to
see if anyone noticed the leak (assuming, of course, everything is done?).

Looks like he finally saw our total inability to figure out the color code. Smile Oh and if the PM is watching the forum, Im wondering if you will let us know if there will be a postgame chat. Thank you.

Everyone, I realized something that JC pointed out before but I totally forgot about it until now. Remember Saul's Skype? usrshernandez, We never tried to contact it. Ive requested that he talk to me with a cryptic message saying "I have a few questions for you, there are 7 days left so they are urgent"

Can we think up some questions that I can use when he probably contacts me tomorrow?
TY

Hey guys!
This is intriguing me, so I decided to join in and help. That alright with you guys?
I replied to JC's email (that he sent after i gave him my address)
and the last part of his reply was:
"...Any ideas what the colors might mean? There's a team of us working on how to
decipher this.. so if you have any thoughts, please let us know:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21349&start=840

Only 8 days left...."
Funnily enough, I was already busy reading the pages of here. Heh.
My name's Ronald, i'm Australian, and I've never played an ARG before. This sure as hell is interesting though!

I took Satire's .xls and ordered the places by population (according to
http://www.census.gov/population/www/estimates/metro_general/2006/CBSA-EST2006-01.xls
). Sorry to say it didn't look like it went to anything, colour bars are still jumbled.

EDIT: How many political parties are there in the US? Cause I was thinking, would that have anything to do with the A column? Didn't someone say Kerry is from Massacheusetts(lol, spelling)? Boston is the only place that has two blue boxes. Do you guys have like, a dual-level system of government? A and B for like, senate and something else? Sorry, sorry. Too many questions and not enough answers. :/
