But why the red tint to this shot? Is it just for effect, or is this shot from the monster's POV? I don't believe the entire movie is done in shaky cam.

Is that a shadow on the right side behind the girl? It doesn't look like her shadow, maybe the shadow of the creature?

Then I hope the title of the movie isn't "Thriller"!

I've looked around and searched, and i've not seen anyone bring up this image. It's from about 0:52 in the new trailer, and to me that does not look quite like a human hand..
Any opinions?

You mean this hand?
Take a look at my other screenshot. There's something that looks odd to me there.

The hand is just Rob's. I don't think anything is there. The other shot looks like some sort of 3-4 headed creature.

Wow...
you guys are STILL looking for monsters?
Haven't you figured it out yet? The "monsters" are a fiction of the government, created to generate panic and hysteria and misdirection...while the REAL monsters are the guvmint themselves, who've let a terrible genie out of the bottle (e.g., a fast-acting Ebola type virus, invented by the military, that causes people like Marlena Diamond to explode internally), and now they're inventing a story about giant monsters to cover up their own frantic attempts to kill off the disease victims to keep it from spreading.
In other words, standard conspiracy theory stuff. And it's all a thiny veiled shot at the Bush regime's manipulation of the politics of fear to scare us all into worrying about "imminent" terrorist "threats" that aren't really there.
It's election-year "don't trust the government" stuff. Nothing new there. Still, it's always fun to see any movie that attacks Bush and the neocons.

So when JJ Abrams said this year at Comic-con, as well as saying in interviews, that (paraphrased) "America needs their own Godzilla-style monster" and "it's a monster movie" he was blowing smoke up our blowholes (whale reference)? Doubt it.

First post, been lurking for a few months.
I doubt this script would be "approved" by the Pentagon.
