To me it looks like we are seeing the 2 front legs and the large part with the hump to the right is a long neck. Similar to a brontosauros or like the loch ness monster

Perhaps it's a giant Isopod. Certian species come from the deep sea bed and are parasitic in nature. Two words that are related to Cloverfield...hmmmmm?

If it's an Isopod I don't want to see the movie, they're too creepy looking. Laughing

Actually I would want to see the movie even more!!

Man, these things wouldn't have to get any bigger to eat someone, holy crap

Okay, that was a little sarcastic, but man, those would be insane looking if they got even bigger and mutated you know?

I don't recall these things.

This is pretty, it has four limbs that do a 2 armed breast stroke:

This thing isn't scary what're you talking about:

First, props for the slow-mo fowards and reverse looped vid. Looks great.

Second, anyone else here see some sort of continuous shell from the back of the creatures head towards it back?

Third, I think we can knock out the "claw" image we see once it passes through the space between buildings. To me it seems fairly obvious its just knocked part of the building off, which is now crashing to the street.

God help me I've spent more time on this than my senior thesis, but it is a building falling. The images from this trailer are excellent, props to your guys who have the equipment to give us these loops.

Is it just me, or does it seem like there is some type of masking applied to the upper left corner of the space between buildings? Sort of limits the amount of creature actually seen at one time, which would fit with the modus of everything so far. It's as if you remove the darkened part, the creature would be fully revealed. That few seconds of film might just be the first good view anyone will get up to that point, movie-wise.

Meaty Muscly Isopod
What about breathing?

Salt water breather? Hmmm it seems our monstar is an air breather as well?

I have been searching the net for underwater creatures that have the characteristics of our monstar. There are at least a few species that would make up the beast. But the fact that it is on land for a great deal of time makes me wonder if this is a leviathan creature. Deep ocean would require that our beasty get to water PDQ. And not only water, salt water. Granted it is on Manhattan, but still. Unless it is just passing through.

Is it possible this thing is a land/sea creature? If it does indeed have fleshy muscles and an obvious bone structure with a shell that would mean land/sea. This thing is more than likely a hybrid.

Obviously whilst putting the thing together you would consult a Oceanologist or at least a Cryptozoologist.

Been following this forum since the day the trailer was first shown before transformers, but I had nothing to add until now.

In this shot of the monster:

http://www.serversphere.com/monster.html

You can see more than the others. If someone can somehow imbed this, it would be easier for me to explain.

One poster has kept bringing up the part that he says 'grows' in between the monster's legs. This part is not 'growing' so much as we are getting a different perspective of it as the shot goes on.

The monster's left leg doesn't seem to move very much at all while the monster is moving between the buildings (watch exclusively the left leg, it stays pretty much stationary) which is why people have that 'gliding' feeling from it's movement. But the right leg is where the action is. From the camera's perspective, the right leg is bent and the knee is coming toward the camera, through the building causing the destruction.

The part I mentioned earlier that one poster said was 'growing' is just being revealed more as the monster is pitching to it's left, revealing more of it's underside to us.

I call this part of the monster it's Vagina. It is located in between the monster's legs and looks like a 'U' shape, with meaty flaps of skin protecting the entrance.

I'd say our monster is a female.

Because the monster is pitching to it's left, this is causing it's knee to come up towards the camera and through the building. I'd say the monster isn't really 'walking' between these buildings, there is something else going on. Maybe it is falling over, to it's left, but it doesn't look like normal walking at all. Except that it appears to be moving both forward and turing over onto it's back at the same time.

I got the feeling that it was jumping too.

Actually I get the feeling that the moster is falling over ...

http://www.serversphere.com/monster.html

Watch the "knee" as it comes into frame from behind the building ... not that it does anything special, that's just what I used as my focal point ... the way that the entire "body" changes angles, it seems as if the monster is either falling over or otherwise lulling to the side as it walks.

Also, if you watch the point that Rhavin red-lined, (http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c276/ertai321/11808olderthanteenagenieq0aaa.jpg) the way it "grows" seems consistant with some mark on the beast's belly that becomes more exposed as it topples over.

That's exactly what I just posted W00T!!!

Except that the 'growing' spot is actually the monster's vagina.

^_^ great minds think alike. Granted, if it has a vagina it would seem that it has evolved with the ability to reproduce sexually, no? Ergo ... it's mate is probably going to be really pissed if it doesn't win.

I smell a sequel.

Great steadying of the trailer, guys. The monster still looks like it's almost floating to me, which makes me wonder if we're only seeing a small portion of the monster. Since this portion looks kind of small/skinny, maybe it's only the front neck-portion of the monster, with the head and tertiary appendages? I say small only because this things looks like it's 50-70 meters tall, and I was hoping for 100 at least Crying or Very sad Oh well...

As for ruling out water bears just because they don't have joints, who's going to tell a badass 70-meter-tall mutated water bear whether it's allowed to have joints or not?

By the way, is it just me, or does the monster look surprisingly like Edgar, from MIB?

Note to self: Never search for men in black on google images with safe search off again. 50% of the pics are BDSM gay porn...
