MAKE THE PIC BIGGER PLZ!

From what I can make out in the trailer, I think that's a bomb exploding, probably dropped by the jets on the monster. I make this judgment by observing how the explosion grows, and it appears to grow outwards from the centre, not issued from one apex outside the flames (as would be the case if Biggie was breathing fire).

here you go from the 720p video...im kinda on the fence here but i'm leaning more towards just smoke and fire with the eyes playing tricks on you but if it's real then thats what it is

The monster is crashing through buildings that size in the more famous part... it'd probably take up a good portion of this scene if it was truly there.

Even though the money shot resembles a turtle in silouette, I don't think that it is. I agree with the rest of the group that the shape is caused by the smoke from the explosion and it is much too small in scale.

I am pretty sure that is the fire and smoke from the aftermath of the airstrike flying overhead seconds before.

I am definite this explosion is not grumpypants spewing fire OR due to an airstrike. IF you look in the image you can clearly see the helicopter husk being flung away from the explosion. This is clearly a case of the hollywoods. The monster may have thrown something at it or knocked it out of the air, but when it crashed it created a huge (unrealistic) explosion and that is what is seen here

I see a bomb explosion from the jets we see streaking past us in that sequence, as you can see one of them very clearly here...
