[SPEC]Statue of Liberty: various faces? People, sorry if this was already discussed here, but I've compared teaser and trailer and found out, there are another model of SoL-face in the both trailers.
Is it just "remastering" or intentional?
I must say, the face of teaser (1. "trailer") was more realistic than in the new trailer. Compare it at yourself:
old
and new

i prefer the second one, it looks like somethings b**** slapped it and if i may say so looks quite sad about it too. The first one was immacualte and didn't have any damage to it apart from the neck area seeing as it was just ripped from the statue and hurled at a building and screeching along a road.
The second one is by far the best

I agree. The second one is better. It looks more fucked up by the monster, sadder and just eerier. The first one accomplished what it needed to accomplish just fine, but now that we have a clearer idea of what the monster will be, the second one is just overall better...

The small size of the head in the first one always bothered me.

The second one is also more yellow...just a thought, but in the matrix, things in the real world were given a blue tint and things in the matrix were tinted green. In LOTR, scenes with elves were slightly more golden, dwarf caves were blue, and Mordor/evil was given a reddish hue. Might this also have some symbolic meaning? The only thing I can come up with is sickness or disease (but not plague...that'd be black).
Or then again, maybe it's just dust, and I'm being an idiot?

the second picture looks like the creature palmed it by the face and dug it's claws into it while it was carrying it. then tossed it like dan marino down the street.

I agree, the damage level of the second face is more realistical, but doesn't the physiologic design of the second face look like a little bit strange? In original design of SoL and first trailer (teaser) the eyes seem to be deeper than in second trailer.
compare
Or is it my illusion?

they do seem deeper in the first. The second head look s different in the face shape. The first one looks more like the statue of liberty. How does that work out?

Something I've noticed is that on both models, the windows of the crown seem to be drastically taller in height then they should be... it's something I've noticed on one of those free 3D models of the Statue of Liberty:
3D SOL Model
Not that I'm saying they didn't make their own model, but that weird 'heightening' seems to happen a lot.

I personally like SOL version 2.0. They added the bounceback on her corona while rolling, plus the larger version is more intimidating. I just find it annoying (for continuity's sake) that they would change it from one trailer to the next.

i think the first was made more over as a place holder until the finished product is ready. we've seen this before in trailers, and also there was no way the CG was done at that point, they still recording when the teaser was released.
jsut something to thing about

Why? Obviously either they responded to our own feedback that it didn't seem completely realistic in the teaser trailer, or they hadn't it gotten finished to a point they were happy with when they had to release the teaser. It's not like it really affects continuity.
Plenty of films have had scenes that never make it to the final cut appear in their trailers, not to mention alternate dialogue or incomplete effects.

I like take 2 as well I like the New Trailer version, as opposed to the teaser.
Look how intricate the textures and lighting are! There's subtle gradations along its forehead.

looks to me that they've used the original pan shot of the buildings in the distance and a close up of the road. Things seem to be similar in both pictures. they've just CG'd the head more in depth to make it more realistic. Reminds me of the behind the scenes before and after shots done by pixar and stuff.
