 		I'd wear a hazmat just to stop getting spattered with gore everytime a new exploding chick gets brought in for treatment (assuming I didn't have an umbrella to hand)

That's what the translucent screen is for. To stop all the flying body parts!

 		[SPEC] Lady between guys in hazmats
dont forget also, theres a brief scene where they've entered the dept store/hospital/death spot and a soldier tells Rob and the gang " there's nothing you can do for her now" So whatever is happening to her stomach/intestines, obviously has a limited time frame. once you pass a certain point, your done for.

I just want to make the point that the "her" referenced in this scene doesn't necessarily have to be the girl leaning against the wall (I'm confused about names at this point).

Rob and the girl in the scene with the pixelated soldier could simply both be reacting to something that just happened to ANOTHER GIRL outside the camera frame.

I mean, it makes sense, Rob is freaked, and the other girl has to prop herself up against the wall after maybe vomiting or what-nots from the shock of it all.

Once again though, there is nothing to say that it couldn't be the soldier was talking about a girl not present in that particular scene.

Ok, those are bio-hazard suits. They would not protect from Nuclear or anything beyond a gaseous form of a chemical agent. They are nothing like the military jump suits or mopp suits. The military doesn't, at least to any public knowledge, have any biological agents (or chemical agents) that would cause a person to dissolve, erupt, etc. The miltary wouldn't use NBC on a populated area, within the US, against an unknown enemy, especially within the first several hours of attack. I mean Independence Day at least had that figured out, and based off what we know so far of the time frame we are dealing with about 8-9 hours of time elapsed. (In the scene where the bridge is torn apart notice the clock that read 9:56?... to the eventual crash of the helicopter as the sun comes up) Which would allow enough time for Ft. Drum, Ft. Dix, national guard units, eastern seaboard air forces, and any local naval vessles to respond. Back to the bio-agent. It looks as though she is going through some sort of reverse osmosis or dissolving of cell membranes.. some sort of process that resembles what happened to that Senator in X-Men. Look at her eyes and nose bleeding, her chest veins turning purple, behind the wall she seems to enlarge and have a fluid build up... It's an internal reaction to a bio agent. Also look at the male characters shirt, and his purple lips, he is in the early stages of what she eventually died of. Is this from Slusho? No. In time of crisis would people stop to have a slushee.. doubtful. Something is given off by the monster, whether that be some sort of slug like trail of bio agent it leaves behind, or smaller beings it hatches.. well that I don't know....
