[Question] Will this film live up to your expectations?

Obviously, its impossible to know now but I am just wondering what everyone thinks. This has to be one of the most highly anticipated films since the internet has blossomed into what it is today. There has been so much scrutinizing of each frame of the teaser and trailer, online photos, anagrams, myspace, whois's, web addresses, dead ends, wav files, jpgs, bmp's. Will it be possible to sit in the theatre on 01-18-07 (cause i know we are all going on opening day) and actually watch the movie to be entertained instead of sitting there analyizing every sequence, every sound, every shadow of the movie? Can this entertain us the first time out?? Can it live up to the impossibly high hopes we have lofted on this film?? These are questions we must all ask ourselves. Do we have it in us to watch this movie objectively on opening day and be entertained and not be over critical???!!! Cause at the end of the day, it's just a movie.

Wonder if they are going to have midnight viewings?

This really has the momentum and vision to be one of the greatest science fiction/monster movies in a long, long long, time.

Fortunately, I can turn off my analytical mind and just watch a movie to be entertained. I'm also keeping my expectations low so I won't be disappointed. There are more then a few theories flying around here that would piss me off if they were true no matter what, but they seem highly unlikely. I just want to see all known characters die, NYC destroyed, and people firing helplessly at a huge unknown creature.

I'm sure there will be midnight showings where I live, there always are around here.

Same here, I may get into the hype of a movie, but when I watch it, I dont try to think of it as something it's not. The Hype is it's own seperate fun. The movie is another...
