I'd pay to see an Abrams fall in to a subway stairwell.

ok the Aircaft Carrier there is the USS Intrepid it is a museum now but maybe thrown into usage as a runway during the attack

Those Museum carries are pretty gutted, it would take alot of work and man power to get one to support Aircraft again.

But I guess if the movie you are watching has a giant monster destroying New York, then yes, I suppose a Museum Carrier can support Aircraft Laughing

As far as Air Force is concerned. They could be from anywhere. New York does not have a fighter Base. New Jersey has a Mcguire Air Force Base, but that only has Cargo (C-17) and Tanker (KC-10) aircraft

Yeah but Jets can fly super fast they could be dispatched from any where almost and get to the scene before Military

Yeah, I said they could be from anywhere. I was just pointing out that the closest base doesnt have fighter aircraft. So, asuming the fighters got there in an hour, that means the Jets could be from any base within a 700 to 800 mile radius. That covers alot of bases. So The jets can come from practically anywhere

Well Intrepid wouldn't be useful the deck is full of Aircrafts like the Concord and planes like that. Also the gov't doesn't tell us everything but I wouldn't doubt they have a few jets at JFK and Subs out in the water

Can't be for sure but I think some of the military there is the West Virginia Army National Guard. The closest insignia that I could find were these...
First one is very hard to see, but there is a circle there with black lines. If you watch the trailer during the big fight scenes you'll see that it's there.
Second is the soldier with the blurred face and third is the real patch.

Abrams Tank - 40 MPH
MASS EVAC.

Yes it is an Abrams. two sides to this story

(1) If the military knew about the attack in advance, then they could have whatever they want parked and ready

(2) if they didnt have fair warning, then Fort Hamilon could have Tanks in place within One Hour and 20 minutes (thats the time that takes place from the first attack in the trailer, to when we know for a fact the military is there)

Fort Hamilton is located in Brooklyn and the M1 ABRAMS can travel up to 40 MPH on a road.

Good point Clown but what about an obvious evac of the area? Peeps leaking everywhere. Remember that fan video that came out when they were shooting the scene on the street and everyone was screaming and running and pooping their pants? It would be tough to move a tank that fast in streets filled with people.

@ jawbone: Well if thats west virgina then there most certainly was a knowledge of what was about to occur. And just how could the people not notice that Military activity increased unless security level went up

Uh, I believe all the Battleships have been retired. It would make for an awesome sight though. Very Happy
