^ Well, technically something that big couldn't exist period. Well not on this planet at least.

from what i gather, that leg closest to POV looks more like a chicken wing than anything. the other front leg looks like it's pointed toward the ground. the "breast" plate looks half like musculature, and half like an exoskeleton.

from what we gather is the back half of the "head" does anyone else see a giger-esque alien head?

thanks for posting the gif. what people were speculating to be "claws" was really a piece of the building falling down around the monster!

that depends, its said we know more about space then we know our own planet, for all we know this big guy is taking its once ever million years walk...lazy thing... it could of been sleeping on the very bottom of the ocean and the drilling could of sent irregular vibrations across the floor and disturbed it

Edit: minor spelling and grammar corrections

OMG! IT'S A GIANT TICK!

lol...

nah, it does look insect-like, for sure, and I'm thinking it's not moving forward nor diagonal, but turning around. Watch it. I think we may have yet to see the face.

Edit: Nah, I'm wrong, it' does look kinda like it's moving forward, kinda looks like a praying mantis the way the legs are moving...

This is excellent.

Having watched it loop many times, I'm beginning to get a different feel for it.

It almost strikes me as moving like a gorilla, in a way. Walking on all fours.

I'll try to make a drawing of it...just imagine that we're seeing it's hind legs, and that just out of sight behind those buildings on the right are two huuuuge arms/legs coming down, with reverse knee joints (or elbows), kinda walking along.

I'm with this guy. Obviously, he's not saying its a gorilla, but the way it lumbers around using the front arms/legs for support.

Ok, several interesting things i've noticed after staring at the hugeeee slow-mo HD image of the 'thing' for the last 15 minutes. PROPS to Jaxe btw.

1) I dont think its got any tail whatsoever, but right at the end, we get a quick glimpse or some sort of nubby protrusion.
2) This thing is even BIGGER than what we've assumed so far. From the looks of it, we're only getting a view of the lower 1/2, 2/5, 1/3, who knows.
3) The more I watch the clip Jaxe put together, the more those do NOT look like bipedal legs, but more like something from an ant or insect of sorts. Which brings me to the idea that the thing probly has body proportions similar to some insects; abdomen, etc etc.
4) Its definitely got some sort of large shell, outercoating, exoskeleton, etc, on top of its back, or at least from the point after the legs towards its head

Anyone have any idea of what we're seeing underneath its stomach? area? To me it looks like some sort of defined ribcage. Almost if someone ripped off all the legs on one of those giant isopods and thats whats left.

Thats my $.02, maybe i've just watched it too many times and im hallucinating now Shocked

Here's my shoddily done outlines extrapolating what I think might be hiding back there...

I tried to find the sharpest frames from the animation that showed the legs best...

I get the image of a top heavy creature with thick front legs/arms and a thinner rear body, with protruding hips. Kinda like a frog walking upright, but on all fours?

I like the drawings Awhite, but wouldnt that seem to put too much weight up towards the shoulders of the creature?

Realistically, yes, but this is a movie...and realistically, something this large and alive couldn't exist anyway. Razz

There's always the possibility that there are multiple pairs of legs and this thing is even MORE huge than I'm seeing. Realistically, my theory on the large front arm/legs could be correct, and there could still be 1 or 2 (or more) sets of smaller legs between the back end we see here and the front. This thing could be truly massive.

Speaking of which, has anyone tried to identify which part of New York this is (if it's a real section) and then compared the building heights shown to determine just how big this sucker is?

Its not so much whether we've seen it. Its the fact that it would probably be crushed by its own weight. There is a reason things dont grow that big normally.

In any case, does anyone here think we are seeing it from the front, I certainly do.
