Random people running away and screaming might turn around and glance back at the monster and immediately classify what they see into whatever seems familiar to them. If it has two huge horns, maybe that character immediately thought 'minotaur'. Someone else might think it looks like a dinosaur... it's all relative. Who cares what the extras say anyway? You probably only hear them mumbling over the din of booms and crashes and screams anyway.

I know if I'm about to be eaten by a giant monster, the first thing I'm going to do is bust out my D&D monster manual and try to classify it by bone structure.

If you have a D&D MM, and the creature is in there. You'd already know what it is, and wouldn't have to open up.

LMAO
They might need more than one if it's gained the ability to create minion-zombie-infested babies things.

Maybe she wasn't saying "Minotaur". Maybe she said "Monitor"; like one of these guys...

I really was an extra on the third film. I was a file clerk in the police station and waited around all night before I was finally used in a scene. Paid me $40 cash to stay up all night (it was my first extra gig).
I went on to work as an extra in "Silk Stalkings" and a few other TV movies shot in San Diego. Then did a few "Touched By An Angel" episodes when I was living in Salt Lake City, as well as being a featured extra on "Nothing Lasts Forever" (TV movie) and a line in the pilot episode of "The Visitor" (when I got my Taft-Hartley). Did a stunt (running through a burning door in a bank commercial in SLC) and some stunt driving (precision road work with actors running through traffic in another TV movie shot in San Diego).

The main problem with the whole Minotaur idea is that Minotaurs aren't usually depicted as being large enough to topple buildings. They'd be larger than an average human, but not the size of our huge Gumpypants.

first post Ok, this is my first post so don't flame me..
Long time lurker...I know the theory has been thrown out many times out here regarding the apocalypse..but just consider the minotaur comment..what if they girl did ask" is that a minotaur???" a Horned beast, out of the sea?
Revelation 13
1 And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea.
And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.
The minotaur even resembles baphomet, both are half man, half beast. One being a bull the other being a goat, both are images often used by Christians to portray Satan.
Even if most discount the story of Denise as false, I didn't find anything she said as not being credible. I've had several friends work in multiple movies as extras...so are asked to talk as "background noise" even if it is edited out. If the story is true...why minotaur?? on film it could look like "dinosaur"....but I'm still think about the image of a beast out of the sea with Horns
13And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.
flame me if you will.......

well wat i was thinking was that that line could just get dubbed over... i mean theres a post somewhere back there that states how they gave fake lines like instead of "shit" the word "ship" was over dubbed...
so that got me thinking...
dinosaur could be dubbed over minotaur right?
i mean i could def. imagine someone saying "holy @$!@ is that a dinosaur?!?"
hope it makes sense...

hi guys,
i was an extra for this film. i didnt learn much but maybe some of what i did learn can be some assistance to you.
im one of the extras who gets mauled by the monster in one of the scenes. it had to be one of the earlier scenes because me and the girl acting with me [and a bunch of extras] were instructed to jump like the ground was rumbling. none of us were told to look like we knew what was going on so im guessing this is before the newscast in the movie is made. probably towards the beginning of the film if i had to make a guess.
[i wasnt given a script, just instructed on what to do and when to do it]
anyway my character for some reason runs down the block to see whats going on because a bunch of people are running from that direction. the girl i was sitting at at the cafe runs after me to stop me then as shes turning me around she looks at the sky. the only thing she says is 'is that a minotaur?' before we get killed.
so im guessing the monster is a minotaur. we werent told and no one would tell us. like i said there was no script, we were just told what to do.
all the conversation i have at the cafe with the girl is improvised because they wanted it that way. they told us we could talk about anything. it was really cool. everyone just kind of did their own thing in the scene. the only thing i was instructed to do other than my lines was show up in a red shirt.
anyway, after viewing the trailer and poster i was pretty convinced that theyre going with the minotaur idea unless it was just a throw off kind of thing. but i thought some of you could look into that if you wanted. just thought id share.

Hi there denise! Nice to meet you, but unfortunately I must punch a hole in the continuity of this post. J.J. said it will all be cam-corder view, so it will all be seen through hud's eyes, and thus far, we cannot begin before the newscast, unless the monster is still reeking havoc as the film is being played, however, I'd believe that would mean that we're totally screwed since we're more preoccupied watching a home movie than having a gigantous monster going on a feeding binge. since you're confirming yourself as an extra, i'd think you are walking on thin ice within credability, however, that doesn't mean i'm right...just pointing this out.
Looks like Euchre and I see eye-level...
