True. It can also be used to describe an outside party attempting to take over a game, much like a character in GTA "jacks" a car. Thus, gamejack. Generally that's what is meant when people use the term.

So I've been lurking around and I sent in my info and whatnot. Hopefully this will turn into something? I've never gotten in at the start of any games, they always seem too involved by the time I hear about it. ^^

I am new to the community and have just recently discovered the existence of ARGs. I checked through the posts for the "doyouseeit" site that you guys are following and noticed that there are also a few more links that haven't been mentioned yet (I don't think).
The second page seems to have the most on it...
Some text about "The Timid 2-Corporation" and a number sequence after it
as well as some mathematical sequence further down after that
The third page has some links at the very bottom (You have to scroll VERY long) that I haven't investigated yet.
Hopefully this info is helpful... if it's not and I'm making some rookie mistake, please let me know
Edit: The "Timid 2" text deals with numerology
also, I didn't mention the strange script that appears first. Don't know what it is.

No one's gotten an email back right? This seems pretty slow communication wise...

Nothing appears to be in the source and the code is huge. Still working on deciphering it. I've also tried to piece together some of the sentences in the columns of text. My gut tells me that the word "monsters" is in there a couple times, but maybe not. Anybody with fresher eyes able to pick out anything?
When I look up http://freewebs.com/doyouseeit/index.htm I don't get anything.

That's odd. It was there before. O.o

Yeah, I don't get anything from that addy either... does this mean anything?
Anyway,
I keep on coming back to this image of text(or something) and wonder what it is. Some type of weird font? It looks vaguely familiar like I've seen it somewhere but I've looked through countless fonts and haven't found a match. Maybe someone else here knows what's up.

This is the image that's on the second addy I refered to earlier

I don't know what font that is either, but we can get almost the whole alphabet from the translation of the first message written in it (the one that gave us the email address). I translated this one, it's from the Old Testament:
Quote:
You shall not make for yourself a graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I The Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate Me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love Me and keep My Commandments.
There are some capital letters in there which are different from the lower case, but otherwise I think we're just lacking the letters x and z. If I hadn't had to actually work at work today, I was going to use the screencap software there to make a character map. Ah well. *reminds self to find good free screencapware*
They did say in one of the emails that they're not ready to have us start doing stuff yet. I say we just be patient - I have a good feeling about this one!
EDIT: The poem on j.htm is about the Mountain Meadows Massacre and is written by a descendent of one of the victims:

Finally caught a break to check in...and as it happens, I've been checking out some "unsolved treasure ciphers" in the last day or so, and periodically checking in here to see what's up. Saw this thread and went through it...and then got to this:

I checked out the link and it was recently familiar to me. I saw that here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voynich_manuscript
Same script...I knew I'd JUST seen that somewhere too, soon as I pulled up the freeweb site. I can't say this is related, could be just "inspired" from or maybe not but if you look through the pages in the manuscript link, the lettering is quite familiar. The info on the manuscript is intriguing itself...maybe it's related, maybe not...but I thought I'd add this for the official record for you who are following it.
Good luck!

Awesome, tinag! That's a huge help! Using your link, I think I found our alphabet: http://voynichcentral.com/transcriptions/Voynich-101/key1.jpg
There's also a key2.jpg of less common characters which may come in handy later on.

Yeah, I've been going back and forth through all the maze of links and clues given and it feels like I've hit a wall.
I've tried using such terms as "voynich" "numerology" "magicnumber(s)" etc... and I still haven't found any new pages so, I'm guessing we're just not meant to move forward yet (or maybe I've just missed something)
Anyway, I guess patience is good advice at present

do you see it http://www.freewebs.com/doyouseeit/c.htm
New here...
Wanted to know if anyone has made any sense of the page listed above...
Viewing the source gives us an Orwellian quote but nothing more...
Could be just a noob mistake for posting this but I gotta learn sometime right!
