[SPEC] Movie ends by military heavily bombing NYC?
Camera survives blast by being buried under rubble, along with Rob.

Three things made me go there :

1) Rob and who ever he's with apparently die by rubble falling on them after taking shelter under a bridge.

2) The trailer saying "area formerly known as central park"

3) Heavy focus on military in the film.

Discuss.

iconsumer - Edited out "nuke", because ultimately I meant heavy bombing... i.e. heavy destruction my military instead of the monster.

Dont think it would be too far fetched to say the camera could survive. There were people in Nagasaki and Hiroshima who survived the initial blast. Granted our weapons are much more powerful today then sixty years ago, but i could see it surviving, especially if it were protected by being underground or buried

Laughing See its times like this that this planet needs its own Saiyan. Grumpybutt wouldnt last two minutes against one LOL

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Don't most modern nukes emit an electromagnetic pulse that wipes electronic equipment? As far as I know the nuke would destroy all electronically recorded data within a fairly large blast radius.

I'm pretty sure it's only certain kinds, and they fry electronic circuits... not wipe out magnetic information. Maybe. I dunno.

Good point, but if i remember correctly, only digital film is affected by and emp blast, old analog stuff wouldnt be erased, so if robs cam is a few yrs old then its possible. But damn good observation there

Yeah, but I am pretty sure we saw a post on Robs myspace that talked about him buying a camera in the last couple of months. So it would most likely be digital. And after looking it up on line any Nuke causes an EMP. EMP's cause a massive surge in voltage that pretty much fries any electronic equipment within 10 miles. Even digital memory will be erased.

i agree with u on that, my point was that analog technology uses old tape recording, not digitally entered data, much more difficult to erase, Like a cd, if u put it by a microwave or some other wave emitting device, it can be erased, or like putting your credit card on that device in the store can erase the data on it,, But an old vhs tape wouldnt be erased in the same way. Youre right tho, about him getting a new cam, and everything is digi now

Nuking the creature would be a very dissatisfying end to the movie. That, and I think it's highly unlikely. Nukes still seem to be used in movies as a "necessary evil" or a weapon of choice by the villain/enemy when they're used in contemporary settings.

Digital data can be recorded on "analog" magnetic disk. This is still very common in consumer cameras (and higher end as well), along with audio recordings (DAT), and pro-quality cameras. I can't think of what the digital video tapes are called for the life of me... but yeah. There you go. Still possible... and hell, maybe it wasn't a nuke, just high yield explosives or fire bombing.

Once again, just sayin... the movie's gotta end somehow... just a possibility.

if indeed the poster is true to the movie, i beleive it shows the aftermath of whats happened during the film. from it we see a trail that we beleive is going to the buildings in the distance, but in fact it is going away towards us after wreaking the damage. Maybe it had enough and wants out, or we've found a way to lure it back to the ocean.

don't think they nuke the place, the monster may have just trampled over central park or the military have destroyed it with tanks.

But as i had put in another discussion about how much faith to put in the poster , you cant always go by that, Alot of times, things are different in the poster or trailer than in the film. Sometimes those things get produced before the final edit of the film is out
