I have the pleasure of announcing to our fellow puzzlers and treasure hunters over the water that the Isis Adventure puzzle (www.isisadventure.com) is soon to be launched in the US by The Sharper Image. This will be in the next couple of weeks.

There are plans for a small number of prize pyramids but the majority of the prizes will be claimed from a special Sharper Image web site.

The Sharper Image Isis' have been specially produced for them and will be in 2 colour choices.

Look out for further details at www.sharperimage.com

...

P.S. We have already hidden a number of free Isis puzzles on the west coast and near the east coast. Details of which will be released by The Sharper Image in due course.

I checked back at the Sharper Image website and found the following product description:
Quote:
For more than a year, the ISIS has challenged the most accomplished puzzle experts in the United Kingdom. At last, the ISIS phenomenon - "the most difficult puzzle ever" - has come to America.

Each ISIS is unique, with just one solution. The puzzle is a gleaming orb, handcrafted in England of a premier alloy of aluminum and constructed of precisely engineered, moveable bands. Each band is etched with hieroglyphics; the challenge is to position those bands in the right combination to unlock the ISIS. You are given 10 encrypted clues to decipher.

The ISIS is a mesmerizing object that is almost as impossible to put down as it is to solve. Your individual purchase is etched with two unique 10-digit numbers, one visible on the outside, the other hidden (perhaps forever?) on the inside. The ISIS can be a spectacular gift or decorative object - beautifully presented in a highly polished solid wood box. The alloy sphere is 2.75" in diameter; it weighs 1 lb. Available in the U.S. exclusively from The Sharper Image. Select Titanium & Silver or Fuchsia & Gold.

Please note: All sales of The ISIS are final due to the unique nature of this special puzzle.

Unlocking The ISIS leads to treasure!

The first step on this richly rewarding journey is registering your ISIS online at www.isisadventure.com/tsi. The registration page will ask for your contact information and the 10-digit serial number on the outer shell of your ISIS; this number belongs to your puzzle and yours alone. Only once you've registered can you gain access to the "decryption files" - top-secret documents that will help you solve the 10 brain-teasing clues that appear in The ISIS instruction booklet.

Once you have the decryption files, you will have every resource necessary to unlock the mystery of The ISIS. And when you have finally unlocked "the most difficult puzzle ever," you will find the hidden 10-digit code inside of it. This code is the key that will unlock and cast open the doors of the much-anticipated Award Zone.

To access the Award Zone, you must return to The ISIS Website and log back in using the username and password you established upon registration. However, the journey is not over once you've reached this level. Upon arrival, you will be presented with a choice - solve one more riddle for $1,000 cash; or take a chance with one of 10 mystery prizes such as a $2,000 massage chair. Your selection will be a roll of the dice; which mystery prize will await you? When you select a mystery prize, you will be shown a riddle. If you are the first person to solve this riddle, you will win the mystery prize. Prizes will be delivered in 4 - 6 weeks. You will also find clues to a treasure hunt for valuables hidden in major cities across America.

Will you embark on this journey? The choice is yours.

Adventure awaits.

Product Information here (click on the "More Information" tab)
The prizes are shown in U.S. dollars, but I see no mention of buried treasures. The original announcement did say, "There are plans for a small number of prize pyramids but the majority of the prizes will be claimed from a special Sharper Image web site," so perhaps one must solve it before learning the details.

jknaack,

Sounds like your doing good. About the rings see the clues. About the next step after 1/2 plunger. Play with your ISIS a little more to find out how to make it go " shhh " like the clues say. Once you figured that out go back to 1/2 plunger then continue along with the clues

OMG, thanks ISIS983!!! I opened it!!! Got it last night, took just a little over 24 hours to open it (Including a full day at work where no work was done Very Happy ).

What a great experiance. I can't wait for the next one!!

1/2 Plunger Stage and Offset Placentas
Am I on the right track?

I'm not looking for a straight up solution to the puzzle. I bought it for a reason; I want to solve it.

However, and with that being said, I've released the third ball bearing, but I've yet to see any motion in the placentas. The only thing that worries me is that some people have said that their placentas moved immediately after using the 11th clue. Is there something wrong since mine haven't moved?

And I have no clue how to get the plunger to slightly depress. I know the ball bearing has to be in just the right place, and that I have to get it through the maze to get it there, but I have no idea how to do any of it. Guess I'll just keep toying with it, but I'd love a little hint...

Gutted!

I bought this puzzle about a week ago, it arrived yesterday and I opened it last night after about 15 minutes trying. That was before I found this forum! I'm not sure if anybody remembers a puzzle with a large ball bearing stuck in a cage made of plastic with brass bars, but the key to opening the puzzle was
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
to dislodge a magnet by banging the side of the puzzle thereby releasing one of the brass bars and allowing the ball bearing to escape. When ISIS was touted as the most difficult puzzle, I guessed that a similar locking system may well be used, so after fiddling a bit with the rings, the banging method was the next logical step for me.
Unfortunately it worked, and I now feel slightly cheated having spent nearly £100! I actually don't really consider the method of unlocking used to be a 'puzzle' as such, as for many people it would be a lucky guess rather than requiring any solving ability. Anyway, simplicity aside, it is certainly the sexiest paperweight I've ever had, although I won't be recommending it to anybody! PS, I read one of your members opened the ISIS in a Selfridges store in 30 or so seconds. If you know what to do, a quicker time is very easily possible.

I have done that big bang thing so many times but nothing happens.
I've been told that I'm not doing it hard enough, well I'm putting all my strength behind it and bashing it on the floor.
Sometimes when I do it really hard the ball bearings go silent. What is meant to happen, the placentas part?

It is just a step. Nothing is to "poof" happen, its just a step. Follow the clues in order and it will open. Its like doing a rubiks cube blind, its a bit tough and there will be alot of luck opening it for the first time.

Waste of time, don't buy
Waste of time, don't buy

opened the isis, registered the key code, selected nearest pyramid area location, solved the clue after a week of google searching and two guesses (2 pound fifty each guess), got the password and precise location, drove 67 miles to location and 67 miles back, met two very uninformed people, opened the pyramid, got a silver coin, registered the 10 digit code, guess what the prize was...no not 20 notes, 20 pounds off my next meal at the place I got the silver coin from (a run down cafe 67 miles away), cheers ISIS adventure, you rippin off twits with an 'a'

solve this 'XBOL JTJT BEWFOUVSF'

Yank ISIS Adventure, you can do better than that. Come on cut them some slack. This is the first puzzle so the prizes are going to be small. Mr. Reeves has said that the difficulty and prizes will increase up to ISIS 5. And the other prizes were better. Be pissed at yourself, you picked that pyramid.

Think about it; puzzle is $200 you think the prizes are going to be $10,000. The company wouldn't make it to ISIS 2.

If all you people are pissed at the ISIS puzzle, then congrats you are a genius now amaze us and post your MENSA number. Its a game people do you get equally as pissed when you don't win the lottery?

Shakys point....

I think Shaky has a fair point. The clues are so ridiculously hard that if you finally get them right an pay £2.50 each guess then after paying £100 + £2.50 per guess on nightmarish clues you finally get a voucher for a crappy little cafe hours away from where you live it is an insult.
Maybe if the clues didn't require days and days of work and then a charge for each attempt, then a couple of hours drive then i wouldn't feel this way.

how many of the future puzzles do they want to sell ?, yes there is satisfaction in opening the ISIS but not £100 worth of satisfaction.

I wish i bought my ISIS when no passwords were required and took my lottery chances to get a gold coin when the local pyramid appeared.

Sad

Is it worth it?

Im going to ask for one for christmas, and I wanted to know a few things from people who have opened the ISIS and Know all about it.

1. HOW Does it open? Does it come apart in half, or does the plumger fall out with a slot in it?

2. WHAT Is inside it? Is there a key or object that comes out of it when you solve it with the 10 digit code on it, or is the code just written on a wall on the inside?

3. Can you RESET The puzzled or once its open does it stay open?

Please, I would like someone to reply fast, because I need to know before I ask.

Answers:

1. The ISIS comes apart in two halves.

2. 10 digit code inside for you to log into a website to continue your adventure. The goal of the puzzle is to open it to get the 10 digit code inside.

3. Yes, the ISIS 1 can be reset.
