On a more serious note, the monster is more than likely not going to have a name (save possibly being code-named Cloverfield), so you can call it whatever you want without sticking to any one thing, fan-derived or otherwise. Gorgonzolla is good. So's Chef BoyarFLEE!

Wasn't it just a mistyping by pseudo-Engrish Tagruato webmasters?
It's Aphyonus

I like Aphynos for when we're talking seriously, like in "Did you see McFarland new Aphynos figure? It's sick" and Grumpypants for when its joking, like in "Man, that guy is more pissed than Grumpypants on slusho"

One vote for Aphynos.
Grumpypants does have that ring to it, however...

Sure does...that's why we should keep it as a nickname

I'd like to honor Johnnyutah16 by pointing out he's the one that coined the name Grumpypants.

GrumpyPants...hehehehe. Giggle.
Aphynos has a ring to it, a Lovecraftian feel. So I'll support it.

this is premature i think.
for all we know the first time the monster gets on screen come friday the 18th the movie will freeze frame and one of those flashy "POW" or "WHAM" type signs from the old adam west batman tv shows will pop up with the monsters name in it.
...just saying

Hmm, I just came up with some creative, original, NEW official names. Tell me if you guys like them; Zilla, Voltron, Glover, Wreck, Simba, or Sylar. I just came up with these names. Sound kinda cool, no?
