[SPEC] Scales can be seen around helicopter in the trailer?

Has anyone noticed that if you watch the final scene of the second trailer, in which the helicopter goes down, there is something with scales wrapped around the outside of the helicopter? It's visible through the windows, for just a second, if you watch frame by frame. I couldn't find this addressed anywhere else.

I found this at frames 2880 and 2881, in the 720p version of the trailer from apple.

Did anyone else notice this? Is there a way to grab these screens and post them here?

Edit: Tagged and clarified. -SpaceBass

 Quicktime pro

might let you export that frame to a jpeg or png file. Alternatively, hit the print screen button on your keyboard, paste in to MS Paint and crop out the surrounding desktop/web browser/etc...

Rinse and repeat, always repeat.

Yes...the wonders of the "PrtSc" key. I didn't truly know what life was about until I discovered what that key did.

Good thing Quicktime is one of the few multimedia players that lets you do that. That's why Quicktime = win.

Unless of course they are on a Mac, in which case you can either use varying forms of keyboard Twister to get a fat PDF, or you can use the app Grab from the Utilities folder in the Applications folder to capture just a window or selection, and convert the TIFF file it creates with a graphics editor. If you lack a graphics editor, Preview can convert the image using Save As.

Enjoy.

Another note for Windows users, Alt+Print Screen will capture just the window you have in focus, so you can reduce the amount of editing and cropping you'll need to do later.

Except, of course, that Quicktime is an Apple invention...

Let's not get into an Apple vs Windows debate.
Keep in mind that the trailer is being brought to you by Apple via their site, in it's very high resolution HD formats. Show some gratitude, whether you like Apple's products or not. As you should be able to gather, I use both Apple and Windows systems, as well as some exposure to other operating systems.

Last but not least, always remember:

I think that's some sort of protective grid, you know, since its most probably a military helicopter. I have the frames, but I don't have much time right now, so I'll post them later on tonight.

That's cool, I'm a Windows man myself. Sometimes the Quicktime player plugin only shows a green screen while the audio portion of a clip plays perfectly. I'm running windows 2k with the latest version of Firefox...

There was a still frame shot of that scene somewhere on here right after the trailer came out that i thought the same thing about, that i could see scales on the opposite side of the coptor from where the camera was. On closer review though i realized it was the webbing inside the coptor. It did look so much like scales tho, i was totally convinced this was going to be a scaley creature. I dont know if this is what youre talking about, and i cant find that pic right now. Ill keep looking, if i do find it ill repost it here

I've scrolled all the way through the scene and see nothing stationary or moving that resembles scales to me. I see only padding on the roof that's quilted, which could be misinterpreted as scales I suppose. I'd rather be working with a timestamp, as I'd rather not load this monster of a trailer into iMovie if I don't have to - and I haven't yet 'downgraded' my iMovie on this Mac mini to iMovie 6, seeing as the current one doesn't have a timeline view.

Yea that is what i was talking about, the webbed padding on the roof; thanks Euchre. Was hoping someone else had seen that too. It did look alot like scales tho

I feel silly for asking but can anyone tell me how to see the frame numbers while watching the trailer and how can I go frame by frame?

I'm guessing the frame numbers are because they've loaded the video file into an editor like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Sony Vegas, or Quicktime Pro. If you use Quicktime to view the trailer, you can pause the playback by clicking the Play/Pause button, then if you have a mousewheel just hold the cursor over the image and scroll. It should move in frame by frame steps.

I opened the file in QuickTime, on my PowerBook. So I don't have a printscreen button. But, when you open any video, you can just click on the time-second-counter-thingy in the very bottom left and it gives you the option to view frames. You can then scroll left and right using the arrow keys or whatever.
I don't know why, though, but I can't access the option to export a frame. From what I've seen though, the frame numbers are relative to anyone who opens the 720 trailer in quicktime.

I sort of see the "webbing" idea, does anyone have a photo to reference with?
