[Spec] Odd comment to The Effect blog Browser closed on me before I could add - the link at the bottom goes to a page set up by unfictioners as kind of an homage to 'The Cause'- the thread's down below, by Eddy. This was in response to an article about where Dr Abe really is.

WTF? This probably could have gone on The Effect's main thread, but, still... Do you think they're referring to the Slusho answering machine? This is bloody weird. I can't make heads or tails of it. I input the equation into my calculator, and got 3.190711926x10^18. I'm confused. Do you think maybe the Puppetmasters are using us?

That's if you can decipher the maths behind it all, lol. Good luck.

I followed the voicemail's directions, but the moment I press a number, it starts dialing for Togashi....

Yeah, I considered just adding it onto that thread, but if it means anything, it might get missed if on the tail end of nine pages. Better chance for folks to see it. I wonder if it's either just a jack or a sideways contact from the people that hacked Tag.

The reason it was bringing me to Togashi was because I was not inputting numbers quickly enough. But putting 3912 gives me the same operating message over and over again, and putting the number 16364656163656 does not work either....but I though that we determined by this point that this wasn't the kind of ARG that involved riddles/puzzles/math? I wish there was a way to tell if this was IG or not...

I suggest that massive number I posted earlier that's the product of all of those numbers multiplied, but I'm beginning to suspect this is someone screwing with us, because I doubt the puppetmasters would have found out about The Effect and posted something in-game on it this quickly, yet not have updated the Tagruato site and saved it from the hack.

Depends on how much they're following folks like unfiction and whether it'd be in character for 'the cause' or 'TIDOO' or whoever to have jumped on something that fast. Unfortunately, that still leaves it a solid 50-50 that it's just garble. Meh.

Indeed.... 3912, if I recall correctly, is the number at the bottom right of the Japanese recipe featured on the back side of the most recent picture on 1-18-08.com. This is extremely intriguing.

The commenters name is "Amemasu"
From Wiki .
Quote:
Amemasu (アメマス) or Ō-amemasu (大アメマス) is a giant whale- or fish-like creature from Ainu folklore. It lives in Lake Mashu in Hokkaidō and capsizes boats, creates earthquakes and causes other disasters.
In one tale, the amemasu swallows a deer that has come down to the lake to drink, but the deer's antler tears open the great fish's belly and kills it. The amemasu's enormous corpse then blocks up the lake and puts it in danger of flooding. A god in the form of a bird warns the people in villages nearby. The villagers upstream escape to higher ground, but the people downstream, not believing the bird, find the amemasu's body and drag it out of the lake, after which the water comes rushing out with such force that everything downriver is washed away. That area is now the flat Konsengen'ya plain.
Amemasu is also a name given to the white-spotted char, Salvelinus leucomaenis leucomaenis.

What if you leave out the sixes? You can't drink just six?
Or just do the seven sixes and none of the other numbers? The "x" doesn't have to be a multiplier, right?

Heh... I had it translated as "Large", however if I had payed attention I would have seen Amemasu in parenthesis
