In an effort to quash this site... has anyone bothered to read what it says on that site?

They mention BP, or British Petroleum, BY NAME, and not in a good way. Paramount would never dare to mention a company like that in a bad light or else they would get their collective asses pinned to the wall by a lawsuit of epic proportions.

It also, for that matter, mentions The Sierra Club by name. Again, Paramount would not risk that.

Tagruato, when it has used names in the past, has strived to use names of companies that aren't real and cannot be traced, such as the research center. There's nobody that can sue them in those cases.

Furthermore, this site is hosted on GoDaddy. For the record, GoDaddy mail services has the option to create a "catch all" email account, which will be the recipient of ALL emails, INVALID OR OTHERWISE, and will not send bouncebacks. If you set one up, you will *never* get a bounceback from there regardless of what email address you send to because, no matter what, all mail will be redirected in to one account. Trust me on that; I've done it before.

Guys, put this to rest. Parallax has been around for ages with no path from Tagruato, and is now attempting to capitalize by subtle gamejacking, or perhaps not attempting a gamejack at all (based on the "catch all" email address).

Okay, let me help nighthawk and the other cynics here. There are three BIG clues this site is OOG, but the last is most important.

1) None of the other IG sites have used domainsbyproxy to hide themselves.
2) If this site belongs to the Cause, a group that was able to hack a corp. like Tagruato, it would be surprising that the Cause has such a poorly done website.
3) By simply googling the text on akaParallax, you'll see that everything they say is a huge bowl of copy pasta.

For example,
"Oil is extremely toxic to a wide variety of marine species, and current cleanup methods are incapable of removing more then a small fraction of the oil spilled in marine waters."

That was taken from here: http://sierraclub.org/wildlands/coasts/factsheets/2006-07_hurricanepollution.pdf

And this: "The Atlantic Ocean provides some of the world's most heavily trafficked sea routes," etc.

was taken from here: http://geography.about.com/library/cia/blcatlantic.htm

Um. Sorry if I missed this elsewhere

OK So this is my first post. I've tried to see if this is redundant info, but if I missed it, please be gentle.

I only know the first track is DJ Shadow 'Midnight in a Perfect World'. But the track listing refers to it as 'Hands Remix'. I can't find any reference to a Hands Remix of that track. Beyond that, it isn't remixed at all. It is the album version of the song. So I'm guessing that whatever purpose this site has, the song 'titles' have a bearing.

Is there any rhyme or reason to the order of the flags?

Japan-Navy, Russian, US, Union Jack, Saudi Arabia, Australia
OR
JN, US, SA, R, UJ (UK), Aust...

Very odd site just to be floating there.

I also can't seem to locate any indication as to WHY people think this might be "the cause". It is an interesting site though.

It IS an interesting site, but I've been swayed. It doesn't look in-game, after weighing up all the evidence. Another ARG, perhaps?

Assuming this is ig, and i don't know how you found "know your enemy" but maybe that means that teddy or someone else infiltrated tagruato and possibly hacked the site from the inside.

No, zooboomafoo. The site is 99.9% OOG. Let it die.

I woudlnt say 99.9%. The fact they chose such an obscure email address for the auto-reply to auto-reply to still bugs me. I would say more 75%.

W-3, What connection do people see to this, if any?

I mean how did it come on to the radar, so to speak? It seems that the general consensus is to be hostile towards discussing this site, but why did it start getting attention?

I have no idea. The reason its been discussed now is because of an email.

No idea how it was first found.

EDIT:

Track six is Murder In The Big House by Chagall Guevara

Track seven is Every little thing counts by Janus Stark

Do you think the lines on the progress bar have any relevance? They are at a fixed position, so when the bar reaches that time its at a different time in each song.

For Hands its 2:52 and 3:46.
Chemical 2:35 and 3:24
So on.

So its obviously up to something. If not Cloverfield related, what could it be?

I posted this earlier in the thread. I found out about the site here:

a lil jurisprudence

nauttebayo

if what you say is correct, Paramount/the PMs wouldnt be committing libel if they are rewriting someone elses facts, they would be committing perjury, but this is only if they are writing these complete lines w/o consent, i dont know much about IP law, but i know alil on common torts.

AKAparallax
OOG

The Akaparallax site is definitely OOG.

There is no question about it.

The simple reason is that anybody can parody the U.S.A, Japan, Great Britain, Russia, and Australia, but no one, no one would dare mess with Saudi Arabia.

It is absolutely, positively inconceivable that Paramount would put a Saudi flag on an IG website.

Would Paramount mention British Petroleum as part of their IG traffic?

Maybe, but not likely.

But goof on the Saudis?

Nope.

It's just not gonna' happen.

If the Saudis found out, there would be hell to pay in Hollywood.

So however, or why-ever, there was an auto-reply buried and then sent from AKAparallax, it doesn't matter.

It is OOG.

Period.
