Eddy, if you're out there, I'm not so sure about the link to the Cloverfield blog on The Effect's blog. Perhaps a little too OOG? We don't want to be a gamejack, but we want to look fairly legit.

I think the link is fine. I mean, we've seen we're IC enought to be taken for part of the game, yet with that link there it becomes obvious we do not pretend to be taken as IG.

Because I know from personal experience that I'm encouraged when people read my blogs, I'll be sure to keep everyone in the loop as far as traffic to The Effect.


So, some of the links are placeholders (such as multiple links to the forum). I'll clean those up as information pages come online.

I linked to Cloverfield Clues because Tagruato was down and the post needed context, and because Cloverfield Clues had done a really good job of recording the page. In doing so, the idea that we could incorporate Cloverfield related sites sorta took root. In place of tagruato's "Subsidiaries" I've added a drop down menu of "Friends". I wrote up a quick post for my blog and for unfiction in the vein of the Subsidiaries sections on Tagruato. I've also invited a few other Cloverfield sites to follow suite (cloverfieldclues, cloverfieldnews, kaliyugatheory). The idea is to turn The Effect into a worthwhile resource for people.

Building on that, I also think one good way to see The Effect is as Unfiction's Cloverfield blog. The fact of the matter is, most of the stuff getting posted about Cloverfield has its roots in this forum. I know I check the forum daily. So I see no reason why we shouldn't treat the blog and in particular the News posts as trailheads for the various update threads that are constantly being created.

I think it's perfect, except (to be picky):

Official write-ups usually don't include contractions; "don't" and "they're", for example, should probably be expanded

And, since "Slusho!", with an exclamation mark, is the official trade marked name of the product, that's how it should be spelled here

All information provided on the blog is what has been given to us within the ARG. Any conjecture done in character provides no information. For instance, it mentions that we have not been able to track down Dr. Abe, but makes up no new information as to where he might be; to do so would be putting words in the mouth of Paramount, and would be gamejacking.

So, all information on the blog is IG, as far as it's what we've been told within the ARG.
Of course, the blog, itself, is OOG.
