[SPEC] Monsters special powers Besides being a big building-stomping, statue violating, sea-monsters with roid rage, that is...
I started thinking about this again when I saw the Tagruato hack, and the very deliberate but not obvious labeling of each creature to make sure we knew exactly which ones the pics referred to. Deep-sea critters, they.
Well, first I was thinking what if the sea bed nectar is larvae from an ancient life form under the bottom, and it was disturbed and affected those critters from the hack. Then I thought what if a big giant monster had attributes of each of them:
The Irukandji jellyfish is one of the most venomous. What if a big giant creature could store up jellyfish venom, or electrical shock, and could send it out with major force, blowing up buildings, tanks, etc. hundreds of yards off.
What if it had an outer 'shell' like the crab, impenetrable by mortars.
What if it had many tentacles like the octupus, grabbing what it wants in any direction.
And the Ogre fish is also known as the Fangtooth, with the largest propotional teeth in the sea. What if the big monster has huge fierce teeth to gnash with. And from the description, "The head is large with a huge maw and appears haggard, riddled with mucus cavities delineated by serrated edges". Imagine an ugly head like that, but 80 feet wide. Yuck.
Anywho, if you have special powers you think might fit, make your case. I think a huge monster with a jellyfish like attack could be a painful son of a gun.

Hrmm, this gave me an idea,
I like the 4 creatures idea, but why would they list 2 creatures with tentacles?
What if DUMBO actually referenced an elephant instead of an octopus? It would explain the *possible* appearence of giant trunk-like objects in the background of the liberty head scene.
So basically, the Dumbo parts swallow chunks of statues and buildings, and hurl them back out.
Here's a very quick sketch, I might do a proper one for the picture thread later.

I think everyone would agree that every monster should have the power of regeneration.
From past evidence through, i am wondering whether it has preditor-like powers (camo) to mask its whereabouts from its prey

The monster doesn't need superpowers to be a real superhero...a working teenage father.

DUMBO is also a section of Brooklyn, and it stands for "Down Under Manhattan Brooklyn Overpass".

I also thought of the camo idea, maybe it could fit with the strange 'its alive' thing if something people "thought" was inanimate, came to life.
Anywho, seeing the camo idea mentioned here takes me back to wondering about the camoflage project at Clover Field, from this thread:

While reading this, white tape spontaneously appeared on the bridge of my glasses, my pants shrunk two sizes, my haircut suddenly looked like it was cut using a bowl as a template and I had a sudden urge to eat paste.

For some reason this thread makes me think of that old Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey....
"I think the most dangerous animal in the world is not an elephant or a shark but a shark riding on an elephants head...just stomping and eating everything in its path"
Hmmm.maybe MR. Grumpypants IS a Shark riding Elephant.
EDIT Spelling
