Responses in e-mail

So I am sure most of you have gotten this e-mail by now:

Quote:
One of you has asked us why we use a photobucket account with the name of Nxnfun. This is for two reasons. One is because we quite like the idea of posting horrible things that would embarrass her, and have them link to her name! The other reason is because we wanted to take this comfort away from her. Her name is not really Nxnfun. We do not know what it really is, but we are trying to find out, and taking away her ability to use her nickname may help us do so.

Have a great day!
Mliss

After that I was asking her what I could do to help her figure out Nxnfun's real name and she sent me these two e-mails:
Quote:

In fact that is one of the missions some of you will be getting soon! If you want to start trying now, please feel free to do so.

and:
Quote:
Well, I don't think any of you have met any of her friends yet. You should ask to meet some of them. We are especially interested in knowing if Xiuhcoatl is still alive.

Gonna spend some time now trying to figure out what Xiuhcoatl is.

EDIT: In Aztec mythology, Xiuhcoatl (the fire-snake, fire-serpent or Turquoise Serpent) was the personification of drought and scorched earth. It was represented in artifacts as a serpent, and is related to the fire cult of Xiuhtecuhtli.

Miki, I can't get that page to come up Sad

I've got whine.htm decoded... here's a hint:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
it's a mirrored cryptogram. Once deciphered, the lines seem to read from top to bottom.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I needed your arms
for support
and your words to
comfort my many tumbles

I couldn't breathe
without you
and it scared me
it hurt, and I tried to
run away from the feeling
that I couldn't be
but for your presence

I thought

I was wrong and
now...

There is nothing but
I like it.
You are not there
and I still live.

I still walk.

I still breathe and I am not lost.
Conly (sic) when I want to beundefined (not sure about this word)

Don't try to find me
No one to catch me when I fall
I love.

I hadn't thought
you were keeping me down
not holding, loving.

Comfort in routine

It is harder to pull myself up
without your assistance
but when I am standing I feel
S T A B L E
I've grown a skin of pure emotion
you might break it but
I exist for me, now.
There is no us

I love it.

I blindly follow the most hopeless of paths
just to distance myself from you and the things
you made me believe.

I did this pretty fast (cuz I got all giddy when I started to see a pattern, w00t), so please feel free to double check. Looks like song lyrics maybe.

I just got this.

Quote:
Ha ha, there will be many more secrets about us for you to figure out. Some of them, you'll find out through websites like I have done, while others will have to wait to happen until we have all of our information together and hidden someplace for one of you to find... we are also looking for the perfect location for that.

Also, as I told another of our operatives, there are currently 5 more websites like my own, each getting larger as time progresses. Each will grow. 30 pages, 40 pages, 100 pages! I'm very excited about that part. We have an amazing team. The Indigo Children shall prevail!

EDIT: You mean the one about "residuae"? Well basically it's a Latin word meaning like, "resistance." Relevant?

Yep, that one. (Sorry, we had a bit of a post flurry there. Smile )

The poem from whine.htm (er, I mean enihw.htm) is from here:
http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=635758

Unfortunately, I have a feeling it's OOG. It was posted in July 2000.

"Resistance" may very well turn out to be relevant... Mliss says she blindly follows orders but then puts this poem up. Maybe she's thinking of defecting and that's one of the reasons she wants more computer time!

Yeah, the word (when the site worked anyway) was some sort of form of the verb "to resist." I'll search it again on a site that keeps working after the first time. Hahaha

EDIT: Short of speaking Latin, I really can't figure out how anyone can figure out what that means. It could be a form of the word "residio," which means left behind or forgotten or something. Ugh, Latin grammar is definitely not my specialty. Sad

I'm beginning to get the feeling my choice of the codename "Prometheus" will turn out to be rather ironical. Also, Mliss says we should definitely look harder.

EDIT: I've just made an IRC for this, at #DoYouSeeIt

Hey guys,

I decided to write the Indigo Children myself to see what info I could get. They wrote me back pretty quickly Wink

My email:

Quote:
For the last couple of weeks I've been following the exploits of a handful of individuals who have been embroiled in an ever growing abyss of dead-ends, double-speak and labyrinthine links.

You (whoever you may be) seem to be enjoying the view from above while watching the mice negotiate this maze. On this journey, I've tried to aid my fellow travelers (spies) with whatever incites I can gleam from the pages given and the further we go, the more I'm left wondering if we're on our way somewhere or just traveling in circles.

We've discovered such terms as Indigo Children, Discordianism, Sheep, followers, Ducks, Pigs, Voynich, etc... etc...

I'd like to ask, what would you have of us? or to be specific, what would you have of me?

Since this is my first time contacting you, this might seem like an odd question, but somehow I get the feeling you've been keeping track of all the participants whether they've spoken with you or not and this leads me to believe you may have already been aware of me before this time.

I'll stop right here because I don't wish for this letter to be a novel. I'm sure there will be more opportunities in the future for further discussion. Right now I'm just trying to gain some perspective... understand some parameters. Maybe even get an idea of an objective or two if there are any to speak of. And, possibly to get to know you a little better. Trust and understanding are always a necessity in any relationship, so maybe this is a good first step.

The response I got:

Quote:
Hello, my name is Mazal.

It is true that we have been running background checks on every one of you.We need, very much, to know as much as is possible.

This is not a circle, but a spiral. Our purpose, as far as you need to know, right now, is to find out more about Nxnfun and her group. They have been resistant to us. Yanisin, for example. His whole family is full of Indigo children, and he is the odd one out. His sister tried to enlighten him... and he did something horrible to her. They are a chaotic group who wish to topple our bright future and stifle our power.

I'm sure a lot of the confusion came up because of Mliss's personality. We apologize for that.

So, to use some pop culture speech, it seems that the Indigo Children are Sorcerer types in a sense trying to conjure up a beautiful future and nxn are a bunch of muggles(or if you prefer an X-Men analogy or even a more grounded example like say the way people lack understanding of autistics) trying to shut them down because they don't (can't) understand the Indigo Children (incite, abilities)... they fear what they can't understand. Simple enough concept that occurs often throughout history.

I gotta go, but discuss amongst yourselves and I'll check back in later

I just did a baby name check on the name "Yanisin" that Mazal referenced. It's a Navajo name meaning "ashamed." Mazal's name comes fromthe first half of the Hebrew phrase "Mazal Tov," which means something but I'm not sure what.
The names Xiuhcoatl and Yanisin both refer to Native American tribes' names, if that helps at all?

META
thread name?

I've been thinking for awhile that a better name for this trailhead might be "Indigo Children" (although of course we couldn't have known that when it started). After all, "Do You See It?" is pretty darn ambiguous as far as taglines go, so it could apply to just about any rabbithole out there IMO. It is quite in character for our little blue brats, though. Smile

So what are y'all's thoughts on an eventual name change? It's probably too early right now, but I just wanted to throw it out there. Certainly if this goes big and moves to the CF section, I think it'd be worth considering.

Just found this thread today, sent off my email and got a response immediately. I've searched a lot of the pages everyone has found and started trying some random page words in an effort to discover the secret. I know the abracadabra site was listed a few pages back but i don't see a posting of this... anyone able to decipher it?
Thanks.
Hats off to everyone who has gotten us this far!

That's what I was thinking. Unfortunately, I too have no destegging skills, but I'm almost sure that there's something hidden in one of the bajillion images on the mlissbliss site.

/follower

Lemmings. Basically any hooved animals that spooks easily. And mindless people, but she wouldn't be proud of that. The key is to find something that would be seen as good AND mindless, which is really hard.
