I know the word "like" is misspelled in the above post. I wasn't logged in and I can't fix it. Bill? Varin? Giskard? someone?

AWARE is currently in a live pregame. If you'd like to jump in and get up to speed, a new Wiki Guide is being maintained by the players at http://deaddrop.us/awareguide/index.php/Main_Page. In addition, there is now an AWARE Forum set up at Unfiction, along with an IRC chat channel: #ruaware on chat-solutions.org. AWARE is picking up steam and looks to be a very innovative ARG, alreay having had an established player at Unfiction turn out to be an in-game character, or so it seems.

Shame on you Steve!!! Laughing

Oh well. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. Story of my life. Smile

FYI : Still working on getting this together. But, the weekly Monday summaries might be helpful for people to read. I hope to catch up with everything by tomorrow morning.

Argh.

I'm trying to send an email to Marcus updating my phone number, but it won't go through. The error message says something about me having to add a certificate. I'd send it through my normal email, except that I'm pretty sure that the reason why they're giving out these email addresses is to avoid spam, and as such, I suspect that any non-Ideltech addresses will be killfiled.
Dammit.
Eh well, might as well try it from my regular acount anyway.

On a tangiental note... being that I just entered, and this is my first ARG... does anyone have some general, sweepingly stereotypical advice for how I should go about playing? My impression so far from reading through the older posts is that I should cruise around the game websites regularly, and whenever I find something new, post any non-redundant information about it in the forums, as well as any speculation that I happen to have on me, and then try applying that speculation. Is this accurate?

Try contacting the tech support page on www.ruaware.org. If you email them they will get back in touch with you in the next day or so (according to the PM anyway)

Slightly off-topic, but I figured those viewing and editing the Aware Wiki guide might be interested in some of the research IBM did on Wikis. Specifically, they chart Wikipedia, which I think is a bit more high-profile than most, but it is still interesting. Be sure to check out the "results" and "gallery" pages for some pretty stunning graphics charting document history.

I've looked into the Wiki guide and noticed that there are some needed updates. Unfortunately, they will need to be done by players who are working on the OE or TR side of the fence.

Actually, anyone can add the general update/ puzzle things the same way we do here at unfiction. I think that the character interaction is too extensive to post, but the updates and puzzles should be enough to allow players to know the general thread of the story.

What we did before worked well. A few people would post to the WIKI chronology updates and puzzles as they happened. Each Monday, people would summarize the major events of the past week. The problem seems to be that the people who were contributing during the pre-game (including me) are not maintaining the guide the same way now the game has launched.

I haven't been able to keep up with it myself, but if a few people work on it I will be glad to contribute and we should be back on track in no time.
