It's like a 30-40 word description. How can it be bad writing?
They just wanted to get a general synopsis up, not win a writing contest.
You guys saying it's ruining the movie for you have to lighten up. There are a lot of high-strung people around here. You're tellingm e the synopsis on the official site would change your mind about the movie?
Why do we have to lighten up? It's just our opinion and far from being high-strung.
And they will definitely not win any writing contests from that description of the film. Probably not gain any more interest either.
As I said, I doubt they were trying to do that.
They gave a brief synopsis of the movie. So what? You're that fleeting that you would lose interest in a movie because of that description after already seeing the trailers and spending so much time trying to decipher all the clues in the marketing campaign?

If it is written as blandly as that, maybe.
I can tell you that I am now less excited for this movie after reading that.
Honestly, it does not spark any additional interest in the movie for me and it has taken away some of the excitement of finding out the mystery behind it.
Which part has taken away the excitement??? It's just reiterating what we already know.
Some friends have a party, it's interrupted by a huge crazed monster and the movie is the chronicle of that experience as seen on their video camera...
That makes you less excited about the movie?
I'm sorry for harping on this, it just doesn't make any sense to me.

This also solidifies the fact that we really only have the Slusho 6 as far as the movie is concerned and that Jamie is only a major player in this promotion (if the lack of her presence in the trailer didn't do that already).
Or she is killed early on
Well, we know she's actually at the party.
Her survival is questionable.

If we're lucky, maybe Jamie will do the world a favour and expand and explode. But whoever takes that apartment afterwards (if it's not leveled by a certain grumpy-trousered monster) will have to wash the skank off all the walls.

Hehe, I'm nice. It's just sorta obvious where it is, unless he's talking about the site the photo came from. Different story.
BTW I've been looking at unficition.com forums since July, and reading up on shit on Cloverfield. Took a long break, but im back.
So let's fuck the duck shall we.

What are you talking about? I didn't bring up how long you've been on the site, nor did i say anything about finding the sight well after July. That is quite far from the case.

The monster descends on the city.
Does that mean it can fly or are they using "descends" as an ominous term?

I'm going with #11.
But despite the lame copy, the word "surreal" stands out for me.
Def: Marked by the intense irrationality of a dream.
