Perhaps there are many on the inside trying to take it down. Corporate espionage has been happening forever. But are they passing Trade Secrets or working on taking down the Tag beast?
I remember reading an article a few years ago that really launched the background checks, detailed resume movement. A number of people actually went through college, graduated and then pursued a job in a corporation for the sole purpose of sabotage.
If these are real, I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case. Teddy working for The Cause, sabotaging the Tagruato machine...it's highly logical.

One final thing before I pass out for the night... I'm too burned out to translate it, but basically in the last paragraph, it's talking about if someone sees a crime and does nothing about it, they'll be held accountable in front of a council as if they committed one themselves. Almost sounds like they are trying to stop a rebellion or something onboard Chuai. Hm.
Edit: I hope I wake up to see this thing fully translated, fake or not... I want to see how close I was

The date from this letter (11/24) does match the date (in Japan) of the first hack.

I think you can safely take the fairly raw transcription "Important Secrecy" to mean "Top Secret".
Idioms don't always translate all that well. From a tutorial I wrote about migrating non-English Yahoo IDs to English:
Quote:
"Spare electrical postal code" is apparently Chinese for "alternate email".

No, we kinda guessed that's what it was hinting at. Alot of what Kozmo and I have found, we've had to reword slightly because translations don't always sound "goodly".

I was kinda thinking down the lines of they are still inside working among the other TagBots. Smiling, drinking coffee, rallying for the success of Tag. But behind the scenes chipping away at the source.

i opened this thread today and saw that somebody was asking about the newspaper and i just completely shut myself off from this thread.
i feel a bit retarted...
this is quite awesome i must say, and VERY profitable for JJ & co
its becoming more and more apparent to me that this arg will continue to require players fluent in japanese and english.

No kidding. Kozmo and I have been trying to use what little Japanese we do know to translate the letter. It would definitely help if someone who KNEW Japanese happened to stumble on in here... like now .

Something to add to the "in-game" argument...
The photos submitted by rkr7 were taken with a Canon S30 camera.
The photos submitted by dzimmer were taken with an Olympus 710.
It's possible, but not likely that the same person would take photos using two different cameras.

I don't know Japanese (and am now hating myself for not sticking with it when I tried to learn it a couple of years ago), but... Would it help if you had part of the letter in text format? So that you could plug some of the characters into a translator or something? Because I've got some of it done, missing a few characters and probably got some others wrong, but... I'll post it if it would help.
Sorry if this has been brought up. I know I should read all previous pages first, but it seemed time was of the essence if people are trying to translate right now directly from the image itself. Just don't hit me with that freaky Silence of the Lambs trout image I saw the other day.

marketing would be a heckuva way to market shirts. Let the fans think there's IG movie trivia in the packaging, and watch the sales soar.
